the secret command - invincible SWAT
this involves spoilers for a hidden achievement. if you're one of the 3 (at most) purist achievement hunters in existence, don't unspoil.

there's a secret "kill me" command that can be triggered in singleplayer after executing a civilian or restrained suspect while the AI SWAT are positioned too far away to intervene. the command does exactly as it says - the AI attempts to kill the player by walking directly to their location and shooting them. while it's obviously not intended to be used as such, i felt it would be fun to trigger the command and fight the AI as it attempts to kill me. unfortunately, as the title suggests, the player cannot damage the AI as soon as the command is issued. i emptied 20 rounds of 7.62 into one of the AI, only for him to turn and shoot me immediately after, uninjured and unphased. while i understand the RoN team doesn't want to incentivize or glorify killing civilians or SWAT. i'd like to be able to mess around with the game and fight the AI. i've played it to death, initially the way the developers intended, then heavily modded. i feel giving the player more opportunity to do more things - like fight the SWAT AI through an easter egg - would add a little more playability for players that have already played the game as intended.

thoughts? am i just a psychopath?

I honestly feel you. I have a few hundred hours and have been playing since the EA dropped on steam at least. And like you, I've played vanilla and with mods a ton.

There used to be a point in time when you could be a deranged lunatic and the AI wouldn't retaliate but now they are good boys. I don't blame them or anything but still I can understand wanting to just let your bloodlust go wild.

If you play a friends-only multiplayer and gear up with Ceramic armor and a nice rifle, you can still do whatever you want since it spawns you without any AI or teammates. But I understand how that can make the game much more difficult to run-n-gun too!

Are you saying it is currently impossible to eliminate SWAT AI, or just when they are at a distance (and that is triggered)? I remember trapping them in a small room with wedges and then using windows to shoot them and C2 charges to take them out whenever I wanted to go lone wolf.

Start raid, middle mouse, press 4.

Viola. You're alone.

Lol, I was just asking if the Swat AI invincibility happens only when that specific scenario occurs. The method I described was just to show they could be killed.

Indeed. However, I was addressing the person I quoted.
