Amount of enemies
Hi so I bought the Home Invasion DLC, hoping it would satisfy my desire of the idea of a genuine home invasion, but instead it is more or less the same like the other missions.

What I want to say is that I feel like there are always way too many enemies, and maps too big. What I like are just 1 house maps, dealing with one or two armed suspects at the most. This is realistic, and what I enjoy playing.

The map with the three Korean (?) brothers is the perfect example, best mission in my opinion, and I want to see more of that. I thought Home Invasion was exactly like that, but not really unfortunately..

Also the Replay function is kinda broken, enemies dont die on replay, no voices, no gunshots, no animations etc. :)

Agreed.

While I love love love some of the larger maps, greased Palms so far is my favorite map because of how big it is, I do wish we had some smaller maps.

32 Megabytes is a good example. Fairly small map of just a couple of small apartments. The gas station is also great. But I wouldn't mind a few maps that were just a small office area or a regular sized house.

The only maps I really don't like so far is that one that takes place along the border with the large underground area and Lethal Obsession. Those two maps felt VERY out of place.

That said, maybe making the maps larger is a balance consideration?

You can always get mods to lower the enemies

every mission in this game always has to have some hollywood type plot to them and I just don't get why they keep doing that. I would love some more realistic scenarios

EXACTLY!!! I like the backstories and such, but why does it always have to be a terror cell or something. There could literally be a maniac with a knife in a hospital and that would be enough for me to fully enjoy the game.

More does NOT equal fun to me.

It's frustrating to say the least. VOID seems convinced that more badguys adds replayability when it really doesn't. Every level in RoN just devolves into a Fallujah simulator.

A level like the warrant on Victor Getts in SWAT 3 is infinitely more repayable than anything in RoN, despite only having 2 suspects in a small house. That's because different things actually happen. Both suspects can be armed, or only one. Sometimes neither are armed, so if you move fast to collect the guns in the house, you can completely disarm them. There's also the possibility you have to deal with a trapped room.

This was discussed a bunch of times and basically the reason is "Balance" or the game would be too easy. Basically that was the answer for not having smaller maps, less enemies, and/or more swat officers.

And it's an incredibly pathetic one.

You can still have big maps. I want big maps in the game. But I want small maps that are actually engaging. You can easily adapt some of the concepts from Victor Getts to something like Lethal Obsession and Ends of the Earth.

RoN is great as it is, and there are already plenty of small maps for anyone who just wants a lazy run-through.
As a user, I don't really like the smaller maps. I've tried a few in the past using modded maps, and they're just one and done maps that I would uninstall afterwards, but in the case of official maps, those are maps that the devs have to take time to officially implement.

I don't share the same sentiment about maps like Ends of the Earth, their stories are cool I guess, but gameplay wise it is very much short and boring at the end of the day. Ridgeline has the same issue, but at least that map has traps that you actively have to worry about walking into, as well as how tight and clustered the map is makes it hard to spot suspects at times.

That is something they've seen demand for, and ultimately I don't care enough to fight anyone on it, just my two cents. I'll probably play anything new they put out, including small maps, but small maps will never be on my top 5.

I completely agree with this.

The issue with them doing that is the maps would essentially be over in a minute or two, so there really isn't an incentive to make them. Maybe they could have an in game mission editor that way people can just be able to quickly nab handfuls of community content that fit what they are craving instead of having to sift through and deal with modding.

Fun fact: I dont care.

I dont want to spend an hour in a mission. I like smaller maps, fewer enemies.
If I play a huge map, I see myself often just becoming less cautious because its taking too long. If a map is short, I'm way more careful, and really more plan my approach.

These developers think the bigger the better, while its not. At least not in my opinion.

No, its not and pathetic is the most abused word on Steam forums of the last 5 years next to "entitled."

There are reasons why I never play, "Thank you, come again," "A lethal obsession," "Ends of the earth," and "Elephant." It's because it almost takes longer to load the level than to complete it.

If you know possible enemy spawn positions, check corners, or use flashes, there is no excuse you can't fly through a level even if you were going for something like S rank. The game has a flow to it and if you know it the game is very quick, easy, and hell of a lot more consistent than people think it is. Adapt to the game instead of demanding the game be adapted for you.

Again, there are things you can do to make all of those levels actually replayable. SWAT 3 did it back in 1998.

I can say this for pretty much every level in the game. Every time I play a level the suspects behave the same no matter their background etc. Once you have a basic route, there's never a good reason to change it (sans the occasional trap).

Sure, you can accept crap like bad UIs, terrible SWAT AI, Suspects that all behave the same no matter their back ground, pistols clipping through hands(been an issue for 3 years), object scale being wack (been an issue for 3 years), and so on but I'm not gonna accept that. Not when I know much better this game could be.

I completed all the missions and DLCs and now replaying levels on Lone Wolf mode with a pistol, no armour, no helmet, I realise that I would enjoy more missions like "Thank You, Come Again" and less missions of 15 - 20 suspects in a large map. More realistic, shorter, good enough for one player, easier to achieve S.... It is just a different way to play, I don't say remove the large missions, but give more of the short ones, please. So far we had two DLCs with large maps and many enemies. For a change it would be interesting to have a DLC with small maps and 3-6 enemies. And the best thing is that nobody is forced to buy it or play it if they don't like it!
