Worth it?

Is the new DLC really worth it? It doesn't feel like it if you can't play the new missions in commander, or use the balaclavas they promised.

The balaclava is accessible only in MP under the character echo.

If I may, I don't really see any other new cosmetic options besides the balaclavas.

You should check the patchnotes to confirm, I am not sure if there are new cosmetics besides the balaclavas without the DLC. I am right now trouble shooting stuff to check myself, but you can see on the store page what the DLC does add cosmetic wise.

I think 3 maps + cosmetics is decent for $10. But I also spent $10 on one HellDivers 2 season pass which gave you 3ish weapons + some cosmetics. The DLC maps are extremely well detailed and while I think only one map is just "ok" I really enjoyed the other two.

You can play the maps in Practice Mode.

Who knows why Void implemented it that way. But I will note that the maps are available in single player. Because the game has two single player modes, Commander and practice. Practice mode is just Commander mode without the personnel management.
