Try to take a video of the incident, there is likely somewhere you can improve. In the current build, the AI will mainly wallbang you if they see you and you retreat behind cover. But even then, their accuracy was heavily nerfed, so they may just miss most of their shots. They'll also shoot at the door you're breaching if you are doing stuff like kicking it in.

If you have AI mods, even if you think they are nerfing them, it's worth uninstalling them and testing, or double checking to see if it is up to date.

I always wand a door and use a ram to bust it down. I wear a ballistic mask and full coverage steel armor.

I've died a couple times right after spawning in as well. No I don't have any mods.

I will be walking around a room I've secured, about to issue an order for a door, and I fall dead. I have a riot shield either on my back or in my hands too.

It's actually just ridiculous lol.
That doesn't help much, I can think of plenty of maps or scenarios where that has happened to me in a reasonable fashion, or at least seen that. An example being a time I watched a replay from a player, and they walked right into Gerard on Lethal Obsession when was was preholding a corner.

If you're able to record a clip, it would help a ton, especially dying straight from spawn. I can't think of a single map besides Lethal Obsession where that is possible due to where the AI can spawn.

The AI doesen't wallbang you to the same extent now after the patch as they did before it. Most time I get wallbanged I absolutely deserve it. It usually happens if I peak a door, an AI starts shooting and I back away. He follows me with his gunfire. Logical really.

It's a whole different story when they wallbang you perfectly when you haven't even shown yourself yet or if they're standing two rooms away from you, solid walls inbetween.

That's how it was before the update. So, yeah. I'd say it doesen't happen at all to the same extent anymore, if at all, without you having shown yourself or made noise.

Yeah. Video proof or it never happened. Until then I counter by saying that something like that not once happened to me.

You do know that the enemy AI can and will rush you, right? So just because you cleared the room you're in, doesn't mean it is cleared permanently.

Ahh yes, you're probably one of those CoD players who began to run around with their shield on their back, making them very hard to kill, and now you're mad because it doesn't work like that in Ready or Not.

I any case: it sure sounds like a mod in the background does some vicious stuff with your AI. I recommend a fresh and clean install and don't forget to manually delete any remaining folders in the directory after you've uninstalled the game via Steam.

If you like breaching, key is to remain cover while doing so and let team to go in first so you have time to recover before entering last. There is a command to have them enter on your command/action or queue command. Absolutely useful for me especially when using GL or grenade lobbing into a open room.
