PLAY PRACTICE FIRST
PRACTICE is single player without the officer management. You're supposed to do this first to learn the maps and understand the gameplay.

This is why you are CONSTANTLY losing in the other mode. You need to be PREPARED prior to playing with officer stress etc. They should not have called it "practice", cause most of us see that word and say, "nah fam, ♥♥♥♥ a tutorial!"

Or maybe, just maybe, when one clicks on "NEW GAME" it should put you to practice first, not into commander mode as it does now.

I do agree with you absolutely. They really messed up with the menu there

Its wild to me that devs seem to be lacking common sense most of the time. I would normally never click on any mode that says "practice".

Exactly! Feels like commander mode is new game+.

And from the forum posts, it is visible that the menu mess up was bad. People start the game, click "new game" and they are put into a "roguelite" mode with officers stress, no restarts, etc. and they are wondering WTF is going on.

that's what you usually expect from an early access dev that launders money through their customers.

I don't see anything wrong with the menu. In fighting games you don't automatically get put into practice mode to practice your combos and controls. You have the option to go into practice mode yourself at any point that you feel like. The game clearly shows practice mode as an option in the single player menu but people ignore it and go straight to the main game.

This isn't the devs fault that the person is ignoring to practice the game and jumping straight into the story. It's no different than someone picking up a fighting and playing the storyline and is complaining that the AI on max difficulty is kicking their ass. See what the real problem? Add difficulty settings.

You make absolutely no sense and are wrong.

It shouldnt say practice unless its a straight up tutorial.

It should say play or new game then give you the option for iron man mode, which would be officer management. The entire U.I is ridiculous in the way it's set up

lol what? it already gives you the option to choose commander or practice mode at the menu. You just click single player and it gives you the list to choose from and the list includes "Commander mode, Practice mode" How much more obvious do you really need it?

Good for you. You've been gaming for 30+ years and are complaining that practice mode should be the default option and that other people should play practice mode first when you just said that you yourself don't even play practice mode? like wtf? The developers intended commander mode to be their main game. If you or anybody else aren't ready to play the main game yet than take your own advice and play practice mode.

I beat the game without practice mode

What's the point? You can't practice individual levels as you still have to unlock levels.

It's not like Commander mode actually adds any depth either. You can fire/re-hire to your heart's content.

Why would anyone click single player, when the first item in the menu says "NEW GAME"...

Hmm, i downloaded this game for the first time, I want to play it. Let me click "single player" instead of "new game" when I launch it...

And clicking "new game" puts you where? Commander mode!

You cant read lmfao

I said it shouldnt be CALLED PRACTICE MODE. PRACTICE IMPLIES TRAINING OR TUTORIAL. IT SHOULD JUST SAY SINGLE PLAYER OR NEW GAME. THE COMMANDER MODE SHOULD JUST BE CALLED ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ COMMANDER MODE OR GIVE YOU AN OPTION WHEN STARTING NEW GAME TO TURN ON COMMANDER MODE/IRON MAN MODE!!!!!!! HOW IS IT THIS CONFUSING FOR YOU?! HOW IS THAT NOT REASONABLE?!
