Is it just me, or the AI does not suffer from supression?
I try to supress the AI in firefights, so the rest of my team can move up and kill the guy. But the AI is either straight up suicidal, or they have no supression mechanic on them, because those bastards pop out of over while getting shot at and start strafing side to side while returning fire, with no fear of getting killed. When that happens everything goes to ♥♥♥♥, because unlike the AI, the supression absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥ YOU UP and you will get aim punched into oblivion if you dare shooting back.

So, can the AI even get suppressed? If they can, is it just a skill issue on me that I can't do it, or is the system broken? Can't recall the AI sticking to cover or fleeing away after getting shot at.

It's a difficulty thing, if we could suppress the AI the game would be too easy I think.

Maybe, but it feels weird to suffer from a thing and not be able to cause that very same thing on the AI.

But in that case, the more experienced/fearless suspects could do a thing: Blind firing.

They don't need to care about accidentally hitting a civillian, hell, they are killing them. So the untrained/scared suspects would be stuck in place, scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on getting out of cover, and the "better" ones would just stick their gun out and let it sing. Maybe that is already in game, but I don't remember it. If it doesn't, it would be pretty cool.

Agreed that would be a cool feature

I think that this is a pretty dumb reasoning. The enemy can still kill you with 1-3 shots. There's nothing easy about that.

The ai doesn't suffer from suppression. THe community discussed this a lot on the subreddit but it was never addressed. I suggest downloading mods that reduce suppression and shakey aim for the player. It enhanced my gameplay experience by a lot.

Pretty sure ive seen that before in game. Its pretty useless though as theyre literally across the map, nowhere near you, blind firing at nothing.
You can't suppress them because they're not really 'people'. Despite tuning, the AI still feels like you're dealing primarily with automata. Even though they were improved and now occasionally exhibit some basic evasive behaviours and extremely rare 'slight concern' for their own lives, they're still mostly criteria based aimbots that make 'person noises and movements'. Civilians are even worse; just standing there on the spot, swaying and spouting audio - barely offering set dressing.

SWAT 4's almost 20 years older, and the NPCs in that game still felt scared, and unpredictable. Civilians would run into your line of fire and get you killed. And, when you shot at a suspect they'd panic and exhibit the closest you could get to AI fight or flight. RoN's suspects and civilians are basically just props.

i mean, suppression clearly doesn't work because even when you hit their hands, arms or torso they still return accurate fire and can even out shoot you.

Its also funny how enemies aren't affected by not being able to shoot if they are too close to you or something. They can shoot you at point blank but if you were aiming at them, your gun would go up and be disabled.

Its sad. These are the kinds of things that should have been fixed in EA but never were.

I have no issue with the game being too easy as long as the enemies behave like actual criminals, not martyrs whose only goal is to take as many officers with them as possible.

Most of the levels that don't feature ex-military or hardcore mercenaries should have enemies mostly panicking when being engaged by SWAT and giving up more often than not.
