Neon Tomb is literally impossible to S rank
Either one of your stupid SWAT AI kills someone even though they're equipped with non-lethal weapons, or one of them die, or you die because you can't see anything through the horrible graphics. This level sucks so much, the worst of the game so far by far.

its not that you are penalized but the run then becomes imperfect. S rank is a standard rarely achieved, but it's the goal.
One of the main objectives of the game is to S rank every level, SWAT AI killing terrorists makes an S rank impossible on that run, hence I'm getting penalised.
You're taking the game too seriously. No one is entitled to S ranks. The game is built in such a way that sometimes, death is unavoidable - both on your side as well as the suspects. Always going for the S means you are always pushing the simulator to work in *exactly* the way you want, which defeats the purpose of the simulator. Sometimes your teammates will accidentally headshot someone with nonlethal ammunition. It happens. It's a simualtor. Sometimes your teammates will get KO'd from an angle they weren't expecting. ♥♥♥♥ happens, it's a simulator. The degree of randomness is part of the charm, and when you are constantly pushing it to be as perfect as possible (i.e. S rank) then you are ruining and killing the game's charm just because you're entitled to getting a certain grade.

The grading system was added for fun. Not to frustrate you. *You* are the one allowing it to function as a curse instead of a blessing. Adjust your mindset.

That's total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, if there is an achievement and unlockable for S ranking every mission, the devs clearly want you to S rank every mission, and when the mechanics make that impossible that's a failure of game design. Stop gaslighting me and make excuses for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ designed game.

Working on the same map, I notice downstairs is easy besides middle open area, so every time go straight upstairs and clear, waste no time arresting civilians just rush upstairs and clear once you got that finished and alive do downstairs how you normally would

Achievements are, also, for fun. The reason why you don't understand what I'm telling you is because you're struggling to grasp this concept. The achievement doesn't exist because they "want" you to do it. It's there IF you do. You're directing your hate at the devs and at the game when in reality it's your own self you're uncomfortable with

Utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nonsense, of course they want you to do it or it wouldn't be in the game. But due to their total incompetence it's impossible to achieve through no fault of my own. And I do want to do it but due to the completely terrible mechanics it can't be done. Stop gaslighting me.

I completed this mission today at S rank, but it took a long time and a lot of attempts

Just go in solo and make bots wait outside true solo s rank

The game gives cosmetics, improves your officers moral, and gives achievements for doing S's.

So no...it's not for fun it's literally what you are suppose to do.

The game want's you to S but literally makes it cancer to do so. and most people just say "♥♥♥♥ it" and go into shoot on sight mode after about 5-7 hours per level just to move on to another set of BS.

The game was NOT designed well at all. Basically mechanically going for an S is correct. but Technically is the wrong way to play....it's absolutely stupid.

I used a mod called "No Crack for AI" which basically makes the AI function better, since we all know about the AI's horrible aimbot and wallbanging that plagues the game.

Using it, it's made stuff a lot easier, but my issue arises with getting an S because I'm assuming to get an S rank, you have to surrender all suspects. But I can't. The only one that won't surrender is the suicide bomber guy. Me and my team have used all sorts of non-lethal stuff on him, he'll just stand in place coughing, or stumble around, but he will not drop to his knees so you can arrest him. Then the non-lethal stuff wears off and he's back to trying to bomb you again.

The only way we can arrest him is if we keep using non-lethal on him until he drops to the ground knocked out, but when we do that we can't get an S because he didn't surrender.

This is literally the only thing that's stopping us. Everything else is perfected. But because of this one particular bomber, S rank is near impossible.

Heh, thanks for using my mod.
Try my other mod if you get too sick of this map:
https://www.nexusmods.com/readyornot/mods/3234
Will let you shoot those who refuse to surrender without losing S rank.

Even though the wires are bugged, the Taser itself works. I used my trusty Taser and beanbag shotty and got my S rank (no mods mind you) on the first attempt.

turn post process to "Low" and (optionally) turn down VFX too. Use Night vision goggles to see in certain parts of the map easier. It will get rid of the all that post process crap from the lights and you'll be able to see better. You'll learn what areas of the map are best to use it as you play through it. As for the Swat AI killing enemies i don't use the SWAT AI so i can't really say for sure what you're doing wrong but try to place them in positions where they can't kill the enemy. What non-lethals are the Swat AI using? bean bag or pepper balls? Beanbag can kill suspects with head shots. Pepperballs are the least likely to kill a suspect on accident.

See, that's cool but I do feel that makes things a little too easy. I think what I would prefer is that if you can arrest someone by incapacitating them/knocking them out and have it count, but if you kill them then it doesn't. Obviously you score more for bringing in suspects alive, but when they're unconscious they're still technically alive.

Server room in Neon Tomb and the sorting floor in Mindjot are nightmares. AI can target you if they see even a pixel of your body through the endless amount of clutter in those rooms. Those server racks and pallet stacks are especially deadly.
