Cloud Saves not working<

So i started up the game on a different computer and different location. And i can't figure out how to get to my save and config files. Cloud saves are turned on. I've learned that all those files should be located in the %appdata% folder (which is a weird decision IMHO), but i thought it should also sync to cloud and download it to the other machine.

I don't have access to the first machine right now so i'm wondering, if it will wipe out my progress, if i start a new game on the second machine. Should i turn off the cloud saves on the second computer just in case?

I've turned off Cloud saves, and hit the NEW GAME button. It loaded my savefile from the first computer. So the button was just misleading. Cloud saves working properly.

... but the unlocked customisation items and loadout presets are gone ...

I just reinstalled my PC, and all saves are gone. Mission progress, items, etc. It seems no cloud save here.

So i thought that it worked but it didn't in the end. While all the above is still right, once i've played on the PC2 a mission or two, i then switched to the PC1, where i've played for several days afterwards. I ended up on Sinuous Trail, which i've played like 10-20 times, before switching to the PC2. Once i loaded the game on the PC2 my progress went a few missions back to the point, where i left it on the PC2.

At this point i decided to turn off cloud saves on the PC2 again, delete the whole appdata folder and start from scratch on that machine. So i've started a new game, set everything up in the settings menu again and restarted the game ... when i pressed continue, the level progress was reset to the first level, but the game somehow managed to download my squad mates and loadouts which i used on the PC1 during the Sinuous Trail level (which i never played on the PC2).

At this point i thought i will delte ma savegame files and let the game download from the cloud. But once i started it with the Cloud saves synced, i was back to level one and squad mates with loadouts from the earlier progression on PC2.

I was very confused so was browsing the main menu and discovered that after clicking Singleplayer / Commander mode, i get to 3 save files, from which only the first one was being used (with 4.5h progress which is just not right, as i've already put 25h into only this save file on the PC1).

At this point i thought, that creating new save file will finally make me start from scratch .. well .. it did reset my customisation and level progress, but somehow i have the same squad as i did on the first save file with only 3 slots left to unlock for the officers.

My question is:

How the hell do i start a new game from scratch on the PC2, while keeping the first save file to my PC1 so they don't collide with each other (separate unlocks and whatever)?
