Ides of march tip
Use wedges. You need enough to wedge every door in the map, so 2 wedges per character should be enough. You start by clearing the corridor and wedging every door you pass until you have last 2 (usually there's at least 2 doors leading to a room). Then you mirror under the doors to check for traps (there are many of them on this level) and enemy positioning. Finally, you can start clearing them one by one, but without the risk of getting surprised by an enemy coming out from one of the rooms. Good luck!

Judging from the endless, upon endless threads about the A.I's aggression, I don't think most players even use wedges - it's all about "shoot the bad guys, no surrender" mentality...
They are literal lifesavers, being able to literally lock down an entire map so you can chip away at it room by room.

Wedges doesn't save you from instant aimbot. And most of the flats are connected together. Only the 70s flat and the laundry are not.

Good luck to see a suspect through the glass of jazz man balcony while this suspect can see you and shoot you for free.

This raid is more about luck than actual skills. Suspect have the tendency to ignore gas, flashbang and gas launcher on this raid. If you are lucky, they will not.

Oh yeah, game still has issues and you will need some luck to succeed, but with this tactic I managed to do it twice in a row. First I got a B due because I killed all suspects, then I went with non lethal setup and got an A+ due to losing one officer. Before that I failed at least 10 times in a row.

Stinger launcher made this mission a lot easier than gas did (Imo) Stinger right in the center of the room= instant surrender. Sting, send your men in, profit. Wedges were hit or miss, but knowing which areas to hit first will depend on RNG for one and your ears for two. You can hear where the suspects are if you listen to their conversations and light footsteps.

I mean, good for you and all, but I haven't even had a chance to deploy my wedges twice in a row, because after going out from the fire exit to the corridor I was welcomed by armed vets running out to me and one-tapping me and my fellow officers.

Third time I managed to set up one wedge, and got flanked while trying to go to the next door. Again single-tapped by shooter who I haven't heard/seen coming. That's when I've decided to just download AI mod...

Been playing the game for a year, and wedges are always part of my equipment. They don't help when I don't even have a chance to react to incoming fire, so yeah "just use wedges" is not really a solution.

No argument here. It's not a solution, but a tip that makes this map much easier. One of the things AI does much too well is flanking and on this map it's especially annoying. Knowing that enemies can only come from a single direction is very helpful in my experience.

People think Gas is an Instant Win because in previous maps a gas grenade would usually cover an entire room no matter where you threw it

In Ides of March there's a number of rooms that are larger than the gas canister's effect area so they rush in without hearing the suspects coughing and are surprised when they get gunned down

Wedges is just comfort, it give you control but it avoid you to take extra gear (You also take risk by being busy while dropping those wedge and if a suspect open the door while you put your wedge, you are dead). If you want to solo without the swat AI in Non-Lethal, i don't think than wedges will be useful for you.

The real danger is :

- the long corridor
- the fact than there is ton of furniture where AI can hide behind.
- Some furniture (like the hotel luggage carrier) than you can't shoot through and block your yell while exposing you entirely (the AI can still shoot you).
- the thick glass walls than you can't see through but the AI can and shoot you.
- those rooms where you are exposed in multiple angle and making your stinger/gas gear unable to be used efficiently. (It's all about luck on this one)

No, you are gunned down because of wallhack and aimbot. Not a skill issue. Stop with that. Gas is ignored randomly by the AI even if they are in the range of the gas.

I think I am on my 6th or 7th try tonight. I almost nailed it a couple of times only to be shot down in the last piece. I like the challenge but I think the Ides of March mission comes a bit too soon as the 5th mission. The step up from the previous mission is quite steep due to the level design and multiple angles in most rooms. It does make you up your game though, first mission were wedges (to mitigate sudden fire/surprises and narrow angles of attack) and strategy start to make sense too. Best runs were using gas and gas masks + pepper AR

I think also than everything is made around the shield.

For the guys who said than you need to use your ears. I will remind than some suspect don't make noise, they don't talk, they don't move. Especially at the end of the run. So, good luck to find out where they are in a flat where you are exposed in multiple angle at the same time.

This map is simply fubarred
Kuzu Feb 7, 2024 @ 3:17am
crouch and move low ready position. zero footsteps, faster movement. If the suspect's back is turned, you can even slap him butt. I'm really not kidding :)

THIS, IS A LIFE SAVER ONE.

free hint; "toggle crouch" :VSnake:
