Military update when?
The SWAT guys are completely understaffed. With 3 men we have to neutralize what feels like 50 heavily armed people. For the birthday party, at least 2 Swat Vans, each with a total of 4 units, would actually have to be requested. Or AT LEAST a sniper. I find it so ridiculous that you sneak around, take hours to complete a mission and in the end and you get killed by the last civilian because he pulls out a knife. I really don't feel like it anymore. Gives me a terminator mod that you can just march through the levels.

It's so ridiculous that these missions are designed for 2x 5-man military squads. With hand grenades, mines, snipers, drones etc.

how come they do not have a sniper on relapse when you can get shoot by a idiot posted up on a far window in the opposite building shooting all the way on the bridge, like I have to deal with that when a sniper could easily handle that situation themselves

They did want to make a successor to SWAT 4 which had a four man squad deal with everything, even North Korean mercenaries shooting up a hospital and a cult with a bomb lab. Honestly, it would be nice to see an extra SWAT van nearby to get the feeling that there is another squad to go in just in case my own team was killed off just to give the idea that there was still an attempt despite getting killed.

As for a sniper, they had some missed opportunities in some missions where a sniper would of been useful.

To be honest, I don't really enjoy it. The opponents are far outnumbered and they are mainly military. I wouldn't be surprised if I have a mission at some point where the enemies drive a tank through the wall. It's just too much for a 5 man SWAT team. A sniper doesn't necessarily have to be used just to kill. Imagine if he could even pass on helpful information, e.g. Target person spotted here and there. In space anyway. Then you don't have to spend hours searching there anymore, but no. The 5 SWAT men are gods who like to wander around the huge complex for hours only to be stabbed by the last civilian at the end.

1. The cards are already designed for an 8-man SWAT. so two vans.

2. you can't run. Tasks that might take 30 minutes (if things go well!) can easily take an hour or more.

3. What am I playing here? Hide and seek? I don't enjoy it anymore, I have to be honest.

But I also just noticed that the enemy AI can still shoot through walls. I often have the problem of seeing my opponents, even under fire. They're still shooting everywhere. And then with 50 people. How are you supposed to do that as a normal SWAT unit?! NEVER EVER!

I'm not sure which map has the highest suspect count but on the very last map (Port Hokan aka Hide and Seek) I believe its anywhere around 17-26+ suspects? At some point in the game (specifically with the Hospital map) I started to tally each suspect I've encountered/restrained so that I had a rough idea of how close I am to finishing the mission or at least not have to worry about getting wallbanged or aimbotted with 100ms reaction time. I finally ended up finishing Hokan and the mission had 24 suspects on that successful run, don't even know how many civilians were on that map. So there's your heads up for Port Hokan.

Thats why i say "It feels like 50"
But it doesn't matter now, I'm out. I surrender to the game. If the game gets another big update, I'll take another look, but I'd only try it if I know it won't be another waste of time. It just doesn't make sense to me at the moment, so that's it for me.

You always walk around there for an hour, being careful and everything and then dead, dead, dead, dead, dead,... I think it's interesting to see how my bots can carry on on their own, but even then I would have thought I would still like them to complete the level for me and I can move on to the next level, but even that isn't possible. I don't care now, if you enjoy it then have fun and enjoy your time! I'm out.

As much as OP gives up, I may as well just throw these 2 cents:

Far as enemy count goes, I wouldn't be surprised at even SWAT 4 having more than suspects against than the player and the team. And once you reach Ides of March, some suspects that aren't cartel members or gangbangers will be ex-military and police types.

As for running, press spacebar to point your gun downwards, it gives you some extra movement speed. Also I run with the "less cracked AI" mod so I don't wallbanged. Instead, some bad guy spots me and tries to shoot at me from another part of the room but I manage to either not get hit or the heavy armor I wear absorbs anything that wasn't an arm or leg shot.

If this still ends up being a boring waste of time, find another FPS game to play and probably avoid SWAT 4 as well since this game pretty much copies the whole four man team going against criminals thing.

Relapse is near unbeatable because of the AI on that god forsaken map shooting through ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walls and tracking you
Idk why but that map seems to be the worst right now it's god awful

RoN cranks the silliness up to 100 tbh, starting with the second level (23 Megabytes) that gets unlocked for Singleplayer which gives you a completely meme brief then drops double digit suspects armed with automatics in a multi-story environment for you to deal with. It also has a garbage mechanic that automatically reveals the element to the last suspect and triggers it to hunt after you.

The SWAT4 level design and its progression is way superior and you can also give remote commands to your squad mates through the squad cam when coming across a split, so the gameplay is more intelligent as well. In some levels you get Sierra Snipers that watch angles and can automatically inform you of activity or be controlled by you to open fire. Command wheel for SWAT4 is also very intuitive and easy to use when RoN's is a fidget fest.

SWAT4 never puts you in a situation where you have to perform flicks, regardless of the number of suspects; in fact its nigh impossible, because accuracy gets a huge penalty if you move the mouse too fast with most weapons. It's more of a thinking game in comparison because each level is a puzzle (there's also no real armor selection or shield).
I never gotten the last suspect to hunt after me though in this case for 23 Megabytes, I always gassed the last apartment and the last suspect becomes more of a camper than a hunter. Then again as I mentioned in previous threads, I run with a no crack AI mod so I don't know if that actually changed things. I'll also admit with SWAT 4 not really doing remote commands but I always took advantage of sierra snipers, especially in sniping suspects. Would of been nice of RoN to have snipers in some levels to make taking out suspects much more easily.

And you're right about RoN's shooting. Shots won't exactly line up so you gotta flick the mouse a bit. SWAT 4 is more generous though one doesn't have ADS and the crosshair will be off in shots if one really tried to move. And I can attest to that from experience a few times.
