New port hokan is awful
this map makes you realise how broken the suspect ai are, especially if you try walking up the tower without clearing the outside first you will get shot through all the windows trying to get up the stairs. (and ides of march) They can also see you through the tiniest gaps in the dark which are unavoidable due to huge open areas outdoors and in.

*Beaten the game already going back through for better scores and S ratings*

"I try to engage a map in a way that is sub optimal and it gets me killed, fix the game please"

No, clear areas more optimally instead of playing poorly

why are you not clearing the entire outside before moving interior in the first place? you're just asking to get shot in the back or waste 5 minutes backtracking through already clear areas

Honestly I found Port Hokan rather easy, especially for a final level. None of the suspects wear body armor (or at least so few do that the UMP-45 w/JHP is fine), there's not a lot of civilians in your way, and it's pretty easy to have your officers clear ahead of you for the most part. Only thing you have to watch out for is your AI officers overextending some times.

That being said I don't really like the new Port Hokan, as it doesn't really play to RoN's strengths. Old version had a good mix of long range and CQB, but this new version just feels like a shooting gallery.

Just an example, I do usually clear the outside first

The map isn’t that hard when playing normally but going for an S and trying not to get minus points for unauthorised use of force is painful. Also while going through the map I’m trying to solo it without my AI as in most cases they will accidentally shoot ai or kill suspects I have surrendered. Yes this is where people will cry and say “well you are not meant to solo it” well ai aren’t meant to be programmed to be john wick, I know I’ve made the game A LOT harder by choosing to do that but its less aggravating than playing with the team AI

Replied to another comment saying I usually do clear the outside, I know how to play these games properly don’t worry…. Not sure why you are so pressed either, game clearly has issues with suspect and team ai so stop glazing.

Doesn't change the fact ai has regressed

Exactly, I beg for you guys to get to the tower and get to the top with the enemies outside still alive you will see how BS it is. Even when going up in stealth without them knowing where you are beforehand

Yeah okay I can concede I'm not even willing to try Port Hokan on S. Not with the current hyper-aggressive suspect AI, or the layout which again I feel doesn't really play to RoN's strengths, (that being close quarters combat).

The hardest for me is the post office, that one's got a huge warehouse as an open area with tiny cracks and peakholes the suspects can shoot through.

Have you not seen the achievement that requires you to beat this map with only taser, flashbangs and melee lol :DMCJester1: these devs are on something

Yeah no thanks. I'm more than happy to cop a few 'skill issue' comments if it means keeping my sanity.

Most people that do complete it are frauds and are using mods to lower the difficulty anyway so ignore them
