Replayability, what’s it like long term?
How many hours can you get out of RON? I’ve been looking for a game other than R6Siege to sink my time into for a while; from what I can see even with broken AI (based of the comments in here) this appears to be what siege should of been like but went all Overwatch hybrid swat on me. I’m looking for a replacement game, something to sink my teeth in to for a bit. So would this game provide many hours, days, weeks, months of replayability or is it finish the story/missions and your done type of game in a few hours. Does the makers of this game have a road map?

Unfortunately VOID's decided to get rid of the various game modes for no good reason, so replayability has gone down the tube. Sure, spawns are still randomized, but the AI is going to do the same thing for the most part, and that is shoot, shoot and shoot.

The only real replayability the game has to offer is trying to get S rank, which isn't really fun solo considering how flawed both the SWAT and suspect AI is.

And before anyone says Mods fix the AI, I'm going to go ahead and state that whilst some AI mods make the game a lot more reasonable, the core flaws are still there.

I'd recommend waiting for some content updates before buying RoN. The current build is rough and the fact VOID removed this game from early access is insulting. That being said, I think it can be fixed and improved, but I've been saying that for 2 years now.

Do they have a road map for the game? Just cautious in buying after seeing what happened to the day before zombie gane

Roadmap is supposed to come out after the holidays.

I got my moneys worth a long time ago and I’m still playing, i guess it depends on how quickly you get bored of trying to beat your score/time

The big problem with replayability is you are limited to the 18 maps that come with it on open multiplayer.

Modded/User maps have to be installed outside of the game by everyone to be useable.

That is why removing 7+ maps and modes didn`t help this update at all.

Replayability? My game used to run fine before this update, Now it runs like absolute dogwater

Leave that the game is running very poorly now experienceing fps drops from 100 to less then 20 almost all the times in all the maps it's just annoying and not easy to play

The replay-ability depends on how you approach each and every mission. The enemy spawns are varied, but once you get accustomed to a map, it becomes straightforward.

I think they should add back the game-modes; like hostage and Raid, instead of combining both modes into Barricaded.

There used to be tons of replayability back when we had multiple game modes for each map. Not anymore though.

Dont get me wrong, there's still some replay value but not anything noteworthy. When you run through a map a few times it's kinda done at that point.

Why would they remove the multiple game modes? What were they?

See below image, this used to show up when picking a map

The reason is as follows

"Ability to pick which mission type to play a level on has been removed due to limitations with design and testing, and to avoid narrative conflicts."

Heavily depends on the player, so its hard to tell, if RoN has much replayability for you.
I put 100hours into the early access version and now im another 70 hours into 1.0
I finished all 18missions and now im half way through S ranking them.
i'll probably mod the heck out of this game when im done with that. I hope the team AI works on custom maps, since im playing singleplayer 99% of the time.

RoN wont come close to Escape from Tarkovs replayability for me, but its my fav singleplayer tactical shooter since the good old days of Rainbowsix RavenShield, Ghost Recon 1 and SWAT4.

Yeah, This still baffles me- And I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about it. Legit I was ready to buy RoN when it hit 1.0, and then I saw they removed all the maps so I noped out... A friend gifted it to me for christmas though, so now I have it anyway.

But I'm still very displeased that they tore out all the replayability via mode selection for such weak reasons. Narrative conflicts be damned, Make the first play of the map be the intended 'Story' version, and then subsequent plays can pick any mode, EZ. As for difficulty designing and testing, from what I was seeing on plenty of streams and videos it worked decently well.

Well, right now the game runs like crap for no reason sometimes and perfectly at others, so that kinda cuts replayability a bit if you happen to run into one of the maps that runs terribly.

There's also the fact that all the alternate mission types for maps were removed, so every map has the Barricaded Suspects mission type. No more Active Shooter maps where you have people roaming around shooting the place up, and no more Raids where you have more suspects but ROE are more loose. So that kinda cuts the replayability even more...

Exactly this! The idea that the alternate mission modes would conflict with the narrative of the levels is so dumb. There's barely any "narrative" in the game to begin with! The mission briefings sometimes call back to an earlier mission, but it happens so rarely and is usually one quick line from the Team Lead that mentions a suspect from the previous mission in a chain. Great narrative there Void...
