at that point, only bring order to chaos had been completed, when that solo blue team member finally followed the order, he eventually found a civilian. it's weird because i've issued the order before on the post office map and it worked perfectly.
A) There are non-standard pieces of evidence left, such as a table with a bunch of drugs or money on it (soft objectives). The AI can't tag those, only the player can.
B) You're out of range of the remaining unsecured suspect or item.
Sometimes walking to the other side of the map with your squad and giving the secure order again makes them suddenly realize there's still stuff to do. The range at which your squad will look for stuff to secure is pretty high, but it still doesn't span the whole map.
To my understanding, Search and Secure was moreso available after you achieve "Bring Order to Chaos" to help you find that one sneaky civilian hiding somewhere. It was an absolute godsend when I couldn't find one on the post office.
So far, I've only issued the command to find lost civilians and the occasional stray weapon somewhere. However, the issue I am running into now is that you issue the order 4-5 times and the AI just lock in place and eventually, only one of them will finally begin searching. Even Search Room only works on occasion too.
And about their range, I'm not sure, I was on Rust Belt near the makeshift boat and when my one AI officer finally went off, he found a civilian in the barn near the start about 2 minutes or so later. I think the command itself is either broken or the AI aren't reacting appropiately.
It's buggy BUT...
"Bring order to chaos" seems to allow unbugged search and secure they will move-in/breach and clear independently.
If there is still chaos:
Any room with open doors will prevent or make "search and secure" too wide/deep into unsecure adjacent rooms.
This pushes me to breach first so I rush to close the next door before my team step too far.
Try closing the space you want to secure, no need to wedge.
ALSO: to debug AI, AIM ground and FALL IN.
to search and secure AIM GROUND (if nothing happens, could be it's secure already, nothing to do)
The swat AI doesn't remove wedge automatically on search and secure before or after "bring order to chaos". Seems just right cause if we wedge, it's to keep it closed.
The swat AI will go all the way around if they have access. Otherwise they will conclude the search, ignoring what's behind wedged doors.
