I thought about this too, on the Ends of the Earth level on Kawyu beach, if I go to the second floor of the house with my team, that hallway will drop my frames in half, but if I go up there by myself, its only about 1/4 of the frames drop, really odd.
I'd wager this is because of shadows and how unoptimized they are on character models, especially on the SWAT models in particular since those are really detailed. Put shadows on medium instead of high or epic and go to the same spot with your team and you'll see the difference. Having flashlights for all of your team mates will also tank performance if you have them on, and you can use it for testing.
I know performance is all over the place but this is what fixed it for me, for some reason the game just absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥ itself.
Put -high on advanced launch options and launch it on DirectX12, if the performance is still iffy try it on DirectX11. Clear save and mod.io data and disable replay using PRAETORIAN's temporary fix. The game is already streaming assets when you walk around and it's also trying to record your replay at the same time so I think that is the cause for the stutters and performance drops at times.
Optimisation is hot garbage
1. Navigate to the Ready Or Not steam game folder by right clicking the game and going to properties -> installed files -> browse
2. Then, go to the Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Binaries\Win64 folder
3. Run the game directly from the ReadyOrNot-Win64-Shipping.exe file
The game should now be running perfectly fine, as it is for me now. Went from 20 FPS with less than 50% CPU and GPU usage on lowest settings, to over 120 FPS with all graphics on epic.
I have no clue what's causing the problem nor why this works, but I'll just keep opening the game this way untill it's fixed.
