Replay system philosophy

I can’t help but ask, who in their right mind would design a feature that records EVERY SINGLE MATCH, takes up several gigs of space the more you play, doesn’t warn the user about it, and worse, can’t be disabled in the game?

Sure. Oh, wait.. you actually can't, because the devs "forgot" to add that option to the game. You have to work around the files to do it or take 2-3 gbs of space every time you play a map.

Its not the player's job to know these things. This is more gross incompetence by the developers like when they had mods from mod.io installing to your C: drive. How many players actually know the replay system is constantly recording? How many know they can turn it off to increase their game performance?

Lmao imagine blaming the player for the dev's inability to consider that they don't want this feature. Should have been an option to be toggled on and off but... like so many things about this game, it's half-assed and rushed for that sweet Christmas dough; explains why they couldn't think of such a BASIC ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ switch and trigger.

I didn't know there was such a thing... until I saw this topic.
I guess I found out what happened to about 20gb of precious SSD space.

Well the devs did free up 30-40GB of disk space by compressing the game, they've got to fill that space back up somehow!

Checked my folder, which varies from 22 minute videos all the way down to a couple of seconds (Good ole RNG!) the entire folder is like 1.2gb with 40+ videos in it. That's not bad at all on the compression side of things and you can just open the replay folder and delete them from the main menu. Though yeah, some clarity on how it works wouldn't be a bad thing.
