not a helpful comment but I honestly can't fathom the thought of using a controller to combat these sharpshooting suspects but good luck on your adventure

To clarify:

I am using ps5 controller on pc

If i use the ps5 controller by itself on Ready or Not v1.0, then the left stick does not control anything. So i cannot move in the game or move the mouse cursor etc

if i use DS4 for Windows and set emulate my ps5 controller as a xbox controller, the game works fine and detects my controller

on the Ready or Note beta, my ps5 controller worked fine

anyone know how to fix ?

I honestly can't fathom the thought of using a keyboard for precise movement to combat theses sharpshooting suspects.

During early access analogue input worked absolutely fine, but for some unknown reason they took it out of the release version. I like to use the analogue stick on my Azeron along with my mouse, but all these game developers have this bright idea that you can't use analogue and a mouse at the same time, or analogue input is removed altogether. Even Valve, who obviously would like developers to use Steam Input, have said if you're not using Steam Input, then at least allow simultaneous mouse and controller input. If there are any developers out there reading this, then please tell me what is rationale behind not allowing controller, keyboard and mouse inputs to be used simultaneously.

Goot, are you familiar with Steam's controller configuration utility? You're best of using Steam's built-in controller support to bind keyboard and mouse commands to your controller. I'm sure there are plenty of community-made layouts you can use.

yes - even with steam controller input enabled, i can use a xbox controller fine

but ps5 controller - the left analogue stick does not work

i need to use a third party application like DS4 to emulate my ps5 controller as a xbox controller and it works fine

anyone know how to get a ps5 controller working via steam controller input on this game ?

I'm having the same issue. I've tried both of my PS5 controllers. No luck

Some people prefer to pull a trigger than left click on a suspect...

Not having native xbox gamepad config and support is my biggest disappointment in RON so far.

Those people also use aim assist, which as far as I can tell, this game doesn't have. I mean more power to em, but this would be a nuisance to play on controller.

A controller does not have a trigger though nor is the little joystick any good for aiming fastly on to a target, hence controller players often have auto-aim for FPS games... So don't tell me the "muH I want immersion, controller feels like a GuN " kind of nonsense, lol.

Its your choice, but controllers suck for FPS games, hence I think its fine if a FPS game does not run with controllers, its somewhat irrelevant and similar to a flight simulator not running well with just keyboard and mouse.
Says someone that doesn't have PRO thumbs lol Enjoy your typewriter guys.

I figured it out and it annoys me that It took so Long. Make sure you have your remote plugged in:

1. Go to Big Picture Mode

2. Find a Layout that you like

3. Click Edit Layout

4. Go to Joysticks

5. To the Right of Left Joystick Click the drop down and choose: Directional Pad

6. F**kin Voila!

P.S. You may not need to be in big picture mode to do this it is just what I did.

Nobody said anything about keyboard vs controller to whom the idiot commented before.
