RoN 1.0 release feedback
I'm an early supporter, and I have been enjoying the 1.0 release for the most part. I feel that you guys (VOID) have done an amazing job polishing a lot of what I didn't like before (such as the old PDHQ, the lack of a progression system, mission planning, etc.), and you added a lot of great things to the game.

There are a few things that have been bothering me about the new changes/additions. I'll try to be as succinct as possible:

1. The A.I. is too quiet - It's nearly impossible to hear them unless they talk. They should make a bit more noise, footsteps should be louder so you can track their movement or tell the difference between a scared civilian or anxious perp pacing the room. They also camp corners far too often making zero noise, and snap headshot you as you round the corner.

2. The A.I. is far too accurate and snapshots you in the head when you have the drop on them. I have had this happen WAY too many times. I quietly open a door, crouch walk into a dark spot in the room, the suspect is walking, snaps 90 degrees (or larger) and headshots me before I can do anything while I'm sitting still with him in my sights.

3. The A.I. is able to see/track me and my team too easily through cover - This usually results in either getting killed or wounded, and you have no idea how you were seen. There should be some sort of a buffer percentage on obstacles that are see-through like shelving, where they are less likely to see you through it. Far too often the A.I. has a sliver of their skull or hands showing through a crack or a corner and they instantly know where you are.

4. Mission failures. I get the design choice, but if I can just go through as many officers as I want (without any real consequences other than losing perks) or simply Alt-F4 a mission failure to avoid penalties, why not just allow mission retries? I understand what you were going for, but the A.I. is not polished enough currently to warrant such a punishing system. Even in Rainbow Six, you could retry a failed mission. As it stands, I just don't care enough about my officers to worry about losing, and I don't think that's what you were going for with the current system. If I accept a failure, losing officers and go back to HQ - Penalize me. If I want to retry, let me retry without penalty.

5. More firearms - I'd like to see more retro versions of firearms such as the MP5SD, the M14, classic M16, AUG, etc. Some newer firearms such as the Tavor, or precision bolt action/semi auto rifles for marksman-type missions would be great as well.

6. Longer range map scenarios with marksman roles. I understand this is more of a wishlist item, and given the current way the game plays with respect to how you control your team (the distance to middle mouse clicking on things to get your team to perform certain actions is short), would be hard to implement, but it would be cool to have a few maps like that.

Some of the maps exacerbate the problems above such as Ides of March or Greased Palms, where I failed due to A.I. that is just far too good, half the time at the very end of the mission to some dude corner camping in the dark. Other maps I was able to clear with an A rating first shot. Obviously there is always going to be a "get gud" factor, but I do think things could be improved a little to cut down on the cheesy, frustrating deaths.

I think the game is going in the right direction, and I can't wait to see how it improves. Thanks again for the updated release content, and keep up the great work!

Just make the AI not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ robots and i would really like if the would play more in a defensive postion rather then every AI that sees u rushes u like its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ call of duty. I remember they once said the would do that but i have never seen it once the AI sees u he just tracks u trough walls takes a diffrent route and rushes to ure location hate that so much.

I am very disappointed. But well, there are lots of threads like this. The shills are gonna bomb it in a second and we are saying the same stuff over and over. Its frustrating.

If shills come in and shill, best thing to do is to thank them for their feedback and that you'll take it into consideration...lol.

yes, thank you. AI are COD campers with aimbot and wall hacks :'D Also they often have conversation as if they dont know you have arrived, but are waiting in corners to spray you. I'm also a little bummed that non lethals rarely work. when enemies have gas masks and armor they also turn into absolute bullet sponges, even with limbs. which is a bummer when some need to be captured alive.

At this point with AI, they may as well just ask the guy behind the "no crack AI" mod throw their mod in and fix suspect AI. I'm willing to believe it may as well be borked unmodded since I still have memories of early access suspects being annoying aimbots. That said, they could also fix SWAT AI after you get "Search and Secure" since they managed to crap out on me a few times that I had to secure evidence and people myself.

this right here i dont get why some random ass guys can "fix" or atleast make the AI WAAAAY better then the devs themself

Meanwhile the campaign has pretty much no dialogue and TOC is lobotomized, FPS drops to a point where you don't know if to laugh or cry, stutters give you aneurysms, the price is 50 euros, the SP mission modes were removed, about a 100 things from previous trailers were cut, etc. etc. I don't think Void has done an amazing job by any stretch, famlam.

There is no such thing as "unathorized use of force" or "deadly force"
I scream, they don't immediately drop their gun and instead raise it, then get mowed down as they deserve

Oh, 6. hurts bad, My performance is worse then ever after the release on any graphical setting (literally no FPS difference between high and low)
Enemies on the Postal- I mean Greased Palms just straight up don't spawn in until a certain distance, they can shoot outside of render distance or not respond at all it's a cointoss
The outside has been my safest bet, but the AI has a pixel of their scalp visible so they blast trough all cover.
I don't think we're going to see long range scenarios, god knows why a Swat team lacks sniper support on at least AN angle, maybe the one directly towards the street where civilians are supposed to be

I've discovered the AI can also trigger it's own traps...completed Ides of March again yesterday by the last suspect blowing himself to kingdom come

In all honesty on whether its the devs or modders, the former could just make use of the latter if time constraints was a concern. I don't know what goes on in game development and I never kept up with the devs in what their goals are but if AI refinement was on the backburner, they could just use what a modder made to save time and see how people react to the aimbot tiered suspect AI. That said, I also stand by my SWAT teammate AI in needing improvement in "Search and Secure" since they manage to get borked somehow even when one member is "restraining" but just standing there while the rest just keep following me.
