once you find him you need to hit him with non lethal for like one minute straight WITH NO PAUSES
if you stop hitting him with non lethal for more then 2 seconds and he stops getting stunned HE WILL BLOW UP
if you are doing the mission with AI they will empty their magazine on him and when they reload he will blow up
you have to time correctly so that when your AI is reloading you are shooting at him and vice versa
you also need some good luck to find him in some closed space with not alot of enemies so you and your team can focus on him because i have found him in the middle of the dance floor and only 1 AI was trying to stun him and i couldnt get there in time
I managed to get it after a few tries, you gotta be persistent that's all
Oh my God I just got S tier after posting this, used similar tactics to you and luckily had a great spawn for their leader. Also the "stinger" grenade was way better in making them give up compared to gas grenade, at least from my experience just then.
Also changed my squad so I had 1 negotiator, 1 intimidator and 1 pacifier. I guess those 3 all help each other since they make enemies surrender.
Yes I reckon the squad traits also impact this mission specifically A LOT more.
Sounds like fun [/s]
Not having a go at you, just the way the game has been done.
