Yeah, this is quite unacceptable for what is supposed to be a full release. The fact that you also have to pay 50€ is absolutely criminal.
There kind of is a story. "The Spider" leads up to "Sinous Trail" which leads up to "Valley Of The Dolls". These three levels are connected through small details that you can notice in the environment, such as:
-the email sent to Amos Voll from George Brixley
-the mindjot servers contain CP (from mission briefing) which might lead to Amos
-in "valley of the dolls" you raid Amos Voll's mansion. Arresting or killing him is up to you
A shame, too, 'cause the game was so promising.
Remember the old car dealership? This is a weird nitpick to have, but remember the fish tank that leaked water depending on where you shot it?
1.0 is fine, but where the fudge are all of the old maps? The old port and new port aren't even remotely similar. You could have left both of them in
VOID just wanted the christmas money. Maybe that was smart strategically--but it's also a surefire way to ruin your reputation with your customers.
Look at the global achievements for a prime example of what I mean. Almost nobody has played every map in 1.0--almost nobody. The game has NO retention whatsoever--or alternatively everyone is playing online and failing every mission because the AI is so overpowered that they curb stomp human players, so succeeding--let alone with a significant enough rank to count towards the achievement--is saved for Youtubers or groups or organized players, which you know make up a single hand of percentage points compared to the community at large. Or it's people who just play single player and gave up because the SWAT AI aren't overpowered enough to take on a map full of Terminators
I feel you man. Its really getting to me that none of the EA games ive played/been watching have actually ended up in a complete state...
The casuals of today that dont even realize how good games used to be are part of the problem. Straight apologists.
It sucks because obviously everyone wants this game to be good, but slapping 1.0 on an unfinished product is just aggravating and right after all of the other dumpster fires we've had this year, VOID sure pulled the wool over people's eyes
