Ready or Not on two separate drives
this is a weird situation and I'm really not sure how to best put it into words... so about 6 months ago I shipped out for Air Force BMT and I took my gaming laptop with me. Once I was done with it, during technical training I ended up buying an external/plug-in SSD and started downloading games on that, including Ready or Not, playing said games on my laptop. So fast forward to today, I was finally able to ship my PC thru the Air Force to my duty station and I'm sitting here hesitant to plug in my external SSD into my PC, which also has Ready or Not and is on completely different graphics settings, binds, etc. And it's not just Ready or Not, I got other games like EFT, CS2, Stalker Gamma, that I have on both drives. Will having the same game on two separate drives have negative effects???

I cannot answer this question in fully since I have never heard of this issue, and Steam naturally doesn't let you.

I guess it depends if Steam lets you run it at all. If it does, then it is probably fine. However, you then have the issue of having to find out what drive Steam is using, which you could do relatively easily by right clicking the library > manage > open local files and delete the copy.

Do note that there are reports that RoN does not work while installed on external drives.

yeah I knew this was a pretty obscure situation, I might as well just plug it in and see if anything gets jacked up, and if so hopefully in a fixable way. As for the idea that RoN doesn't work on external drives, it worked fine for me while I was using my laptop.

It's nothing more than a copy-pasta of your installation folder, steam will only read the one from where it's currently installed, which is your [:C] I assume.

You could use either one, just re-direct the "location" of the files trough steam, it will validate/update if necessary and you're good to go.
