Also which less lethal weapons did you use?
BB shotgun is slow but they drop on the ground in 2 shots big max (depend if you land your shot or not, else, you need to shoot again).
Also, apparently, there is a command to "secure" instead of clearing. I don't know how to do that (Since i don't play the swats that much). Apparently, it force to AI to harm but not kill.
And it doesn't work. The suspects never give up. They shoot on sight, and when the officer can't fight back the officer dies 99% of the time. The 1% left is for when the officer caps the suspect in the head, killing him. Less lethal is absolutely useless at the moment. Also, I've noticed the friendly AI doesn't like less lethal at all - when you give them less lethal they start changing to the lethal sidearm, lol.
I might try it on the streamer mission sometime but even his goons have backpacks on their torso, presumably with kevlar or makeshift armor.
Yeah i was kind of hoping with the new advanced AI they would adjust their behaviour when someone has less lethal in the stack but they seem to utilise it the exact same as a rifle.
It's actually more beneficial to outfit your squad with less lethal, or at least one team. As long as nobody on your team dies, being shot or injured doesn't increase their stress levels. Letting your team KILL the enemies does, though. Like... a LOT. Just go clearing maps and your officers stress will be in the red in no time, then you have to wait 3 missions for them to go to therapy. As long as you play carefully enough to where nobody on your team actually dies, you can basically avoid any stress.
On my one save, I've kept my team equipped with less lethal, while I have a rifle. I'll usually breach and flash a room and have the team go in with less lethal, and ill go an cuff the surrendered suspects with my taser out in case they stand up. I'm on the 6th or 7th mission with the same team from the start of the game and stress still green. It's kinda stupid and not very realistic, but so is the stress system. Enemies shooting you/your team doesn't really seem to increase stress, only you/your team shooting enemies does, which makes zero sense.
The suspect behavior relating to self preservation and surrendering, along with the current stress system definitely needs some tweaks and balancing.
