1.0 was a step back.
I woke up the morning of the 13th, super excited for what 1.0 had in store after watching the TGA stream from start to finish with the 1.0 announcement being the only thing that kept me awake whilst watching it. After about an hour, the download was done and I hopped in, ready to experience this exciting new frontier for RON.

...Only to find that they removed the different types of missions that you could play (active shooter, raid, barricaded suspects, etc), added some new guns that serve zero purpose other than being somewhat aesthetically different from the previous arsenal we had (for the love of god please readd the M14), that I had to go through every level one by one to even be able to play the next one, that the AI was even more ridiculously ♥♥♥♥♥ up than before (found that one out the hard way), and that they removed the retry button when you die whilst also shoving a mechanic that few had asked for before down my throat.

I like that they added the new mode, yes, but forcing people to play it to progress is a horrendous decision, especially when there's no retry button in it. & the content vault was pretty bad too.

The update, although it added a bunch of new maps as well as rebuilding previous maps from the ground up, removed more than it added especially in terms of functionality and player choice.

As much as I understand that launches are very stressful for development teams, at this point in time the bar for launches is literally in the ninth circle of hell. There wasn't much to surpass, and this game has a long way to go from being good.

(Also P.S you can't shred right through hostages for some reason, if you magdump them the suspect will just shoot them in the head and play the animation then remain unscathed. I also found a weird bug where if you shoot the hostage enough times they, for whatever reason, stay still in the exact same standing up position even though they're supposed to be dead on the floor.)

Edit: For viewing purposes I should clarify that I'm hardstuck on Brisa Cove because of the tedious commander mode gameplay mechanics, so maybe I'm biting off more than I can chew but I've seen similar sentiment as mine shared across places recently so I decided to write and post this expressing my thoughts.

Well, I would say the game is now much more playable in single player because your teammates aren't completely useless at least.

Yeah, as much as they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a lot of things I will commend them for making the SWAT AI useful rather than being your personal human shields in most cases previously.
