Mission type removed...
* "Ability to pick which mission type to play a level on has been removed due to limitations with design and testing, and to avoid narrative conflicts."

I relaunched the game today to discover 1.0, i am very disappointed to discover that the mission type have been removed to leave just the maps playable in a single mod. This destroys the charm of replayability and the excitement of replaying a map differently and avoiding the feeling of weariness.
Today, I finished 2 maps with a friend and ask: "Okay, we finished the map, should we restart it? Why do we? We just finished it..."
This really establishes a bad way of consuming the game which does it a complete disservice and it's a real shame. The system of being able to choose different modes for each map, that's THE reason why I bought the game. To discover that the functionality has been removed without being able to admit that you are not up to your standards and by discovering excuses like this* that remove a lot of gameplay from your game.
Really sad to discover this today, I expected a lot from the release of this 1.0...

I guess we just have to hope that the community of moders will pick up the broken pieces and put them back together...

Its 1.0, Breath.....Relax...

I'm also not a fan of this. Different modes on the same map gives you a massive boost to replayaability and was a significant reason why I was interested in Ready Or Not in the first place. That they outright removed this is a joke.

Yeah this is honestly a pretty bad thing for them to have done. I don't care about their "narrative" considering there isn't even any real continuity between the missions in the first place.

+1 Yes, this should not have happened.

But the problem is, we don't know if they plan on bringing back mission modes. The devs have stated they plan on hot fixes, but what does that mean? All I know is, my trust in them kinda waiver because I just couldn't see how or why they thought that was a good move to make. Now, if they had all the missions and modes, they could have unlocked them behind a level or a trigger, like clear one, unlock the next mission mode. I just don't understand why they took out the replay-ability of this game. Unless they just wanted people to play their story? I really want to know their full thought process.

Yeah this sucks, they should add back the extra modes. They can just call the default mode "story mode" and then after you beat the level on story mode you unlock the extra modes and they're their own non-canon thing.

They should just make those separate missions to represent different calls to the same place so they can flesh out the story telling more. Theyll have to rethink the mission select list if there are many mods or levels added to make it more readable probably

I agree with that, it was so much better for replayability, I hope they bring it back.
Agreed, its a massive loss on replayability, they should've made that a option in practice mode. Considering that's how pretty much all maps worked before this update, it surely couldn't've be that hard to keep it as a option.

I swear, if they dont re-add that feature, im probably gonna never pick this game up again, because right now it has almost 0 replayability at its current state.

That was a thing subject to change for final release, guess we got spoiled with the modes.

The mission types only seemed to be a thing due to lack of mission variety. Now there are enough missions so that each one could have its own unique type

Thought the same!

It sucks too because I imagine with the new players who didn't experience EA enjoying the game for the first time and all the content creators releasing their hype videos, the devs already got our money, they won't care to change it back.

I seriously don't understand the point of making this a story game that focuses so heavily on trying to get a perfect outcome for the S rank, when that's now how life works.

Part of the fun and excitement of the game prior to 1.0 was being able to select an active shooter scenario on the gas station and the outcome would vary wildly on multiple factors. Sometimes you made it just in time, other times... you were too late.

It feels less life-like now retrying the exact same scenarios for a perfect outcome/score than it before the 1.0 update.

RoN it is based on Swat 4, the foundation of RoN it is based on that game with a score system slightly different.

In fact, in certain missions of SWAT 4 if you get less than 60 out of 100 you couldn't proceed to new missions...You have to do the same mission all over again and get a better score in order to unlock the next mission.

Perhaps you are not aware, but the devs have not finished with the development cycle of RoN.

Clearly there are more patches to come to fix the bugs.
In a mid to long term it has been confirmed to have:
PvP mode
Official SDK for modding.

And there is an expansion which is TBA (free for Support edition owners).
