Mods shouldnt block your score
I know that the times/scores whatever dont really matter, but using mods shouldnt disable it. They are clearly pro mods, but disabling your runs seems kind of senseless to me. Yes, I am aware that there are what can be considered "cheat mods", but who cares running solo or co-op? Its almost like you downloading more maps (content) is both encouraged, yet a punishable offense at the same time.

I hope once the full release happens this is done away with. Everyone including the devs knows that the modding community is what helps keep games alive for years, especially on games that has been so slow to release any kind of updates or new content like this one.

I don't see it happening, especially since scores are being tied to cosmetic unlocks in the future. There are scores for mods, but they are modded scores, and thus not vanilla. RoN will also be getting more achievements, so I'd imagine that would also be restricted, which it kinda should.

So cosmetic unlocks ARE coming? I remember hearing in the past that there will be no kind of traditional progression/xp/unlocks in this game. That that wasnt the point of the game. Again, I can see like the "cheaty" mods say, disabling scores and achievements. ok. fine. most games dont but sure. whatever. But mods that add more content, visual/audio mods, things along those lines that dont change the core gameplay/difficulty I dont think should be an issue. Especially when you consider the whole thing from the start they were pro modding, and even do showcases of maps and such the community created.

That is all great, it really is. That has been a big plus in my book since release in EA. So they are giving us that, but we get punished for using them. It seems kind of counter productive and against everything they say. At least let us have whatever progress is going to be implemented in the full release with new maps. There are a TON of them out there, most of which are really good. I dont think anyone should really have to choose "support all this work someone put into his map, or progress in the game" you know?
Voice and visual (Reshade) mods are not detected by the game, so there is no worry about those impacting modded scores. Reshade is an outside software that injects into the game, it is not detected atm. Voice mods just replace existing files, so also not detected.

Outside of that, there is the issue that other mods of course can be more than they lead on. Some maps accidentally leak additional sound files, you can see this in certain bug reports that authors have to fix. Sometimes they also leak weapon files and you have overlaps. I could easily see someone making a "everything unlocked", which I assume will be fine, but there are a lot of ways that mods can overall impact balance/score, and I think having a vanilla score is fair so you can see who worked for it, and who potentially cheated.

Doesn't necessarily make them anti-mod, it just means that they value playing the game as meant to when doing things such as unlocking achievements, rather than nerfing the game or potentially completely altering it.

I find it interesting that you mention some map mods also having an "unlock everything" script in it. As of now, everything is already unlocked, and its been the general understanding that it was meant to stay that way.

Its really making me wonder just what is going to happen once the full release comes. I watched the entire game awards just to see the "big announcement" that was being teased, and the trailer we got only raised more questions then answers.

From what i hear, we are going to have an actual full single player campaign/story. From the sounds of your posts, we are also going to be getting a progression/xp/unlock system as well. Interesting. Is this going to be just for single player, co-op or both? Are they going to be tied together if both, or seperate? Is the full campaign going to be playable in co-op, or are they going to stay seperate?

Or, can you just not say anything else and im just gonna have to wait and see come the 13th lol
Unlocks will be in all modes but strictly will be cosmetics. Equipment will remain accessible from the very start. The campaign will feature the commander mode and only be playable as singleplayer as a result (permadeath, SWAT AI experience, stress, etc.)

Nice. My hope is theres not going to be any kind of battlepass/microtransaction system implemented. Im totally cool with "old school dlc" like it used to be back in the day, but we have enough microtransaction junk out there as it is.
They have hinted that there may be some old school stuff coming with 1.0, but as they said, "You'll have to play to see"
