Is recoil still crazy?

I didnt play RoN for some time. Is it still extremly strong with some weird upward kick?

From my playing, the recoil feels the same as before. Pistols feel awful, most 5.56 rifles feel worse than they should. The new guns feel the best but the old ones don't seem to have changed. You'd think the SR16 being a longer barrel and DI would climb less than the MCX with a shorter barrel and a piston. But no.
