Should I just buy this game?

There's been alot of other swat games releasing, but I keep seeing this on the front page so I assume it's the best one.

I've been playing the crap out of single player hit scan fps games and I keep seeing this game in my reccomendations.

I don't typically enjoy. Arena style boomer shooter games, I've leaned more towards a cover based hit scan shooter like Halo, fear, and metro games.

If you want a finished product that doesn't have balancing issues or glaring bugs, go for a different one. That said, this one is probably one of the most in depth ones on the market, even in it's (very) early state, so if you like that then consider this one.

I think you're gonna upset a lotta people by calling arena shooters a boomer genre, but Imma see how that one plays out

Besides that, it's up to you and based on what you want. Based on what you said, I wouldn't compare them to anything besides the closest being the Metro series? But at the same time, not really that close either, in my experience at least.

RoN is a tactics based SWAT game. If you play SP, you're gonna spend most of your time leading your AI. Whether that be leading them around literally, or issuing commands to breach rooms based on your gear. I'd agree with Foxxy that RoN is the most in-depth one, though considering it's set to release into full by the end of the year, I'd certainly disagree with the early state comment.

If you're looking for a more serious game not just combat wise, but story, map design, etc., and how they blend, then RoN yeah. I can't compare it to any of the games you've listed personally.

Best one on the market VOID really push a high bar for an Early Access Tactical Shooter game just wait for 1.0 release they're gonna set the bar even higher

There is no active development on this game. No actual progress from the devs despite the constant blog posts. It's like the only team left working on this game is it's PR team trying to keep an already lost heartbeat. There are much better games out there that are at the very least being maintained unlike this.

They claim to be working on things but if so why no update in a year? Even if the new updates break things at least show us you're actually making progress instead of being all talk no show. I wouldn't recommend paying much more than $10 for this half baked game that is probably going to die yet again like it already did once.

Also it should be stated that the last update, that was almost a year ago now, was a major downgrade to the game. They closed a bunch of game modes off, made the AI dumber, and generally made the game worse.

I wouldn't buy it until 1.0 gets released. The game is in very rough shape. I say this as a supporter.

At present, I'm treating it like a Kickstarter - or Star Citizen - because there's no guarantee they'll follow through and complete this thing.

They haven't updated the game in 9 months with the genius excuse that making regular updates would break everything somehow. Theres a million other teams making early access games with very regular updates that dont, in fact, break anything so Im just gonna call it what it is : a lie. Its a lie.
What is true is that you shouldnt rush updates, but then again it as been 9 months.
I dont trust this team anymore and they have done a ton of shady things in the past too but make of that what you will.

Maybe even SCP 5k, Zero hour wont even work on my computer for some reason.

Nahh those game are nowhere near finished while this game is less than 2 months away of being fully released, if you don't like it now just wait for 1.0 they put so much work but beware when 1.0 release the price is going up so if you don't care about the pricing just wait for 1.0 and see for yourself

They want you to spend MORE money for more content , which is sort of commonplace for a FINISHED game.. which this is far from. Where has all of this money that we've given you gone? And still having the audacity to charge people for a premium price despite no updates for longer than I've ever seen. I feel like this game should have literally been postponed because I have never seen a title progress slower. Hope these devs change my mind but I've seen nothing either than news of whats to come
