Another issue is the pricing alone. Game costs 40 buck, they demand additional supports in form of 80 buck, despite they have already made millions of dollars from sales. That price is therefore not really justified in any way.
Another excuse they use for that practice, is that they wanna "honor" those who have supported them from early days. The early days are over, yet the DLC is still on sale. Also, shills usually talk here about the "horrible" bug testing, and from here we go back to the point that some updates had still bugs in them from that 80 buck test branch, also early access is not for smooth experience, therefore bugs are a normal thing and are not justified to be locked behind a 80 buck paywall for several weeks.
As a cherry on top of the cake, they have an additional test branch, which is the dev branch, which is closed for testing and not public in any way. Also, the SE DLC costs around 120 buck, if I am not mistaken, on their website, yet here it is only 80, despite Steam's tax.
"Also for future notice:
A stable and high quality build is our highest priority, which is the goal of the Supporter playtesting to address and deal with any emergent issues. We plan to release our updates to the broader Public once deemed stable and of proper quality, forgoing a set Supporter playtest duration."
We have pointed you to a few resources explaining the differences between the regular edition and the supporter edition. Remember you can always upgrade to supporter later if you want.
As I said, I personally didn't think the supporter edition was worthwhile for me. My way of supporting the development was buying the game. Not having a tan version of my favorite shotgun isn't that big of a deal to me.
If you're on the fence about buying the game my recommendation would be to get the regular edition. Play around with it for an hour (be sure to look at the game options and controls), if you enjoy the game keep it. You can make a decision about upgrading to supporter at a later date the sale price should stick around until January 5th if I recall. If you don't, not a big deal you can always refund.
And remember there's mod support. So you can download a bunch of excellent quality cosmetic mods.
I've complained a lot about many aspects of this game but this is not one of them. It's only a fuss because certain people insist on making it a fuss.
