M16A4
Was hoping that at some point when this does get added we could be able to have one witth a full auto mode since if I remember correctly there were M16A4's that did have full auto modes.

weren't the a1 and a3 the auto?
I imagine quite a few surplus M16A4's have found their way into LE hands, so a M16A4 would make sense, except it would be burst rather than full auto.

And things don't have to be standardized like they do in a military context. So an agency could mix and match lowers and uppers.

Yeah there isn't anything stopping a department from slapping an A4 upper on a A1 lower. I guess the problem though is what do you call it for the simplicity of the game? By the way, here's a rare photo of LAPD SWAT using a M16A2 https://truth.bahamut.com.tw/s01/201103/a8dad4638880076181e141e3f4901e55.JPG

Just call it a Colt RO901 (or Model 901 to avoid trademark.) That's the official name for M16A4 with full auto's designation from the factory.

My point wasn't about terminology just that it's perfectly plausible to have something that looks like a current issue M16A4 but have any trigger pack or lower receiver.

FN was the company that had (has?) the primary contract on the M16A4 and they produce a commercial clone version under the FN 15 line.

But most of the in-game name for things are bogus anyway so it doesn't really matter what it's called. It just sounds like people want a 20-incher with a full length picatinny rail, the exact model doesn't really matter.

A4 variant do not have full auto
as close as u can get M16 is SR-16. It literally look like modern build of M16 and too blockly that i dislike. those barrel guard

The SR-16 ships from Knight's Armament in one of two barrel lengths, 11.5 and 14.5 in. The latter is the standard barrel length on the M4. 11.5 in is an excellent barrel length and it's becoming more popular in commercial and law enforcement circles. The new URGI supposedly has an 11.5 variant but the 14.5 version is more common. The MK18 and similar pattern rifles have a 10.3 inch barrel. Personally I'm fond of 12.5 in barrel builds.

The in-game SR-16 may be one of the longest rifles in game but it's far from the M16's 20 in barrel. The Knight's rifle is still firmly an SBR.

I don't mind the forend on the SR-16, but I do agree it's kind of odd I wouldn't mind if it gets updated with the M-LOK forend that ships on the current Mod 2. There's a surprisingly small number of rifles in-game that have M-LOK which is disappointing. Even though it doesn't actually make any practical difference in-game, it's a personal preference thing. Call me crazy, but I don't want my virtual SWAT guy to get their hands cheese grated on a quad pic rail.

The ones sold in the US do not have full auto, but they do make one for international sales that is. https://www.colt.com/detail-page/colt-m16a4-rifle
