Broken shield?

Why does the shield act like a peice of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ paper? it quite literally does nothing to protect you.

Are you trying to shoot back with your hand gun that's exposing you to fire? Keep the shield up and trust your team to take out the dangerous suspect.

Usually the shield works, even for rifles in my experience. Every once in awhile, though I instantly die to a first shot, even if I'm completely behind it. I assume it has to do with caliber, but I don't know how the devs have that integrated, if they do.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the shield's hit box is smaller than intended, but I can't find where.

It is a host thing, if you are host and crouch then bullets can hit your shield holding arm (aim in-between the funny black boxes on the face of the shield and you can prove instantly just what I typed.)
