Why does Adrenaline exist? I never understood "why was it even there" ?
🤨
Getting shot at messes up your rational thinking, from what I've heard. AI doesn't have this in the same way but they also have significantly less control over their accuracy, and per a recent dev update, they're working on a default "startle" stage that all AI will pass through depending on how they detect an officer.
If you're running steel plates the effect is very severe and lasts a lot longer.
That's why I'm glad that Arma 3 didn't have this stupid system.
This effect is supposed to simulate the feeling of you wanting to stay in cover, or at the least head for cover while shooting, as you feel the tunnel vision when the fear of death hits. Like in real life you won't get out of cover when it happens, and this effect is there to discourage you to do so, as you risk peeking with the "supression" effect that makes it harder to focus on the entire area. Literally tunnel vision.
I am happy most people like it. Would suck to see a hardcore effect like that disappear. You can probably mod it out in the future if you don't like it:)
Because without suppressed effect, you wouldn't know u get shot at or direction. It's more interesting and scare, that's make u want to find cover but "which cover ? Where is the shot ?"
The effect does last quite a while compared to other games, that's all. I actually thought it relevant enough to bring it up to my team that I'm heavily suppressed at the moment and probably shouldn't take point for the next room. It's an interesting mechanic, I don't hate it.
Reminds me of way back in MGS4, you had a stamina bar and a psyche bar. Just being in combat or having shots land near you would start to drain psyche, leading to unstable aim even if you had stamina. The longer the firefight lasts, the worse it gets. As far as I know, that's at least somewhat realistic.
