If you right click ready or not in your steam library > properties
Click on the option to set launch options, and if you want to run the game only in dx11, or dx12, just add this to the launch options
For DX12
Change the 12 to 11 if you want to always launch under DX11
Quite a few games do it, Tomb raider opens a configuration screen before the games load.
It's handy for older hardware too, not every card is capable of DX12 so it's always a good thing to have DX11 available to you.
That depends on your hardware and OS and such.
For me, there's no real difference to me performance wise playing on either API's
Its runs the game at a lower resolution, and AI upscales to your desired resolution and is pretty much identical, or better depending on the level u choose(it has a antialiasing effect.)
My hardware is as new as it gets and DX11 runs better. Except for DX12+DLSS on the performance setting, but the drop in quality is noticeable.
