Frequently Asked Questions and Basic Tips
Hello guys,

So because this wonderful game started to gain a popularity and we see many new people every day joining the family, I've decided to create a thread with some basic and useful tips.

This thread is made BY the community and FOR the community, So feel free to add your Tips, Suggestions and everything you think that may be helpful/ useful for other players including Gameplay Tips, Communication tips, Loadout/Custumization tips and everything else you see fit.

So let's begin:

  • Tip # 1: "Checksum disable" option in setting menu -

The checksum option basically checks that you have the same mods as the host. Because many people dosen't disabled that option and hosting servers it means that if you have mods installed in many cases you just won't be able to find a game because their client is telling the game that you have a different mods. Best solution/Workaround to be able to normally find online sessions for now is to remove mods and put them back in when you want to play Single player experience and vice versa.

  • Tip # 2: Enable players names in settings menu -

This is very useful tip both for Single Player and CO-OP. it will allow you to see the names and colors of your AI characters and CO-OP team-mates in online sessions.

  • Tip # 3: Simultaneously breaching with AI squad -

Now This tip is really cool and is for a sinle player and many people don't know about it. Basically it allows you to split your AI team into 2 breaching squads [Blue and Red] and make them breach doors in the same time. So here is an example on how you do it: Select with your Mouse wheel the Red team, Point to a door that you want to breach click MMB to open the command menu and Press shift to queue an order. While shift pressed select "Breach" -> "C2/Shotgun/kick" - > "Clear with flashbang". Now you will notice that your squad got the order but they are not executing it - They are waiting for your order. Now with your Mouse wheel select the Blue team, Point to OTHER door and do the same steps as with the red team. When all done and you finished, With your Mouse wheel select all of your team [Usually white color] and click middle mouse button - and select "EXECUTE". Now they will both Simultaneously breach the doors you marked for them.

  • Tip # 4: Local / Team voice chat -

In online sessions you ALWAYS want to press the L button and switch to a Team radio channel. The reason for this is that local radio channel is based on distance. If you are going to split or placed far away from your team mates you basically won't be able to communicate with each other. So remember - Always switch to a Team radio channel which isn't based on distance and remember that you have to do it all the time and every game because it's switching back to default Local [Need to be addressed by devs].

  • Tip # 5: Checking Magazine status -

Short and sweet. Hold R button to see how many bullets left in your magazine.

  • Tip # 6: Standard / Quick Reload -

When you are reloading a new magazine into your weapon you have 2 options - Standard / Quick Reload. Standard reload [R button] is more slowly way but will save your magazine and the remaining bullets in it for later use. Quick reload - Double press R button on the other hand is a more quick way of reloading a new magazine into your weapon BUT you will discard your magazine and the remaining bullets in it. Usually you can see the discarded magazine on the floor. So think wisely how you want to manage your ammunition according to the situation.

  • Tip # 7: Speaking about Discarded magazines -

You can look at them on the floor and hold the F button to pick up that mag back.

  • Tip # 8: Head Camera usage -

By pressing by default the T button you can see your team mates headgear camera and spectate their health status [Injured/healthy/Dead],
Another useful use of it is if you and your team mates got splitted and got lost in the map, and can't find the way to each other . Simply open the team mate head camera and help them on how to navigate to your location.

  • Tip # 9: Speaking after death -

Another tip worth mentioning that is related to the tip above is for spectators: If you got killed during a mission you still can voice chat and text chat with your fellow team mates. This can be useful to guide them through the map or help them to find points of interest of the mission by looking online or Youtube].

  • Tip # 10: Sticklights -

Sometimes in really dark areas of the map just press C to drop a sticklight and illuminate the area. You got 10 sticks by default.

  • Tip # 11: C2 Breach charge -

Now this toy is really Useful and Dangerous at the same time. Notice that it won't do any damage to the direction you are standing from but can and will kill or seriously stun a person that is standing in the other side of the door. Keep this in mid if you don't want accidentally kill civilians or team mates and consider using less dangerous methods of beaching the door like shotgun or kicking the door.

  • Tip # 12: Laser Point shooting -

If you have IR Laser or standard Laser equipped on your weapon you can press the O button when ADS to spin it and use the Point shooting with the laser.

  • Tip # 13: Supporter ediiton exclusive weapons -

You may have noticed that you can't select and use some weapons in the game (PF9C, B1301 Entryman, Mk1 Carbine and the rescue shield). When ever you select and modify them you will spawn with a Shotgun. The reason for this is those weapons is currently exclusively available to Supporter edition players only. We shouldn't be able to see them in the loadout menu for regular edition but currently it's a known bug and will be removed/addressed by the devs in the near future.

  • Tip # 14: Weapons damge guide plus link -

You may be wondering how is the weapons operating and what damage they deal after the last June update. @alex1234950 created a really cool thread where he tested some of them and their damage. It's worth checking out -

Bonus 2 tips:
  • There is a coffe machine near the ready room - go grab some drink! [mini-game]

  • Downstairs, near the person on knees, where you can practice arresting suspects - There is a workbench table and on the left corner of it is a Police HAT. you can waer it and be really Tacti-COOL :steamsunny:

So this is it for my starting tips and suggestions - Feel free to continue it and add some interesting stuff ...

Let's do this :oldschool:

Thanks for the bump man. Many questions that is poping up all the time in new threads is already answered in this guide so it's shame it flew under the radar

¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

PS - I've rebranded it to FAQ
No more bumps though - if it unnecessary let it sink :steammocking:

Local is better than Team except on very large maps IF you're split up, which should be done rarely anyway. Local doesn't only do distance but LOCATION as well, this is essential for CQB room clearing to know what direction callouts come from. Otherwise for CQB callouts you have to look at who's talking on HUD, then look for a name tag etc. with local you immediately know what direction the callout is coming from. Team is still better than Discord where you don't even know who's talking without an overlay and even then has the same problems as Team chat

i'm not sure there is a directional sound for local comms in this game like Squad for example. and even if there is and it's that important to you it's hard to find any other reason besides this to use Local over Team channel.

Haha thanks for having me.
If I recall correctly, you will walk super fast after 3 cups of coffee.

A tip free lean(left alt) can lean more than Q and E, you can lean up too, it really helps at some location

And the guns damage I also tested HK416 and usp 45, but HK416 just same as other 5.56 and USP similar to the pistols I have tested which is not worth mentioning

If ever you complete objectives and remain alive in multiplayer:

Have PgUP and PgDown on keyboard to complete missions. Or know where they are on your keyboard.
(It's sad but idk.. some kid didn't get it, had reset these keys, or even worse: he was trolling)
