Explanation to "Valley of the dolls"?
I'm kind of confused. I know like the general idea of the map, but i don't know what exactly is happening.

There's a lot of environmental story telling, spoilers below

Janey of course is Amos' daughter, born to his previous wife. This is evidenced in Janey's room where Janey's mother can be seen suffering from cancer or something. I'm not entirely sure on this, because Janey has an older picture with presumably her mom, and the mom is not even looking at the camera. Could be just how the pic is framed.

Amos is running an obvious cheese pizza ring. The "kid's room", the chalk on the floor, and the barrels being buried with children's clothes. Lye is pretty stereotypically associated with both an intense cleaner... but also to 100% dissolve a body. The tapes on the wall next to the kids room have names and ages associated with them. Something like Kyle 08...

After Janey's mom dies (or maybe when she's alive, I don't know), Amos marries his new wife, his starlet. This can be seen in all the posters which say her name. I don't remember what it is. It is also mentioned in Janey's room on a post-it note from dad that says something like "your mom loved you, and I know you and X don't get along but X loves you too".

So the overall story is to take this dude down. The giant photography room with the disturbed stuff on the wall is either the future groomer target, or it's just Amos comparing body shapes/anatomy of the two people, perhaps in some artistic pursuit to explore the spectrum of masculinity and femininity in the human form. But hey who are we kidding here, it's Amos.
huh ? I thought that is his daughter on the posters

No, though they kinda look alike. His daughter has a completely different name and wants to go off to some college for eco science if her room is any indication of it.

lol adding a story and plot into the missions in this game is like adding a plot to adults movies :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Totally unnecessary imho but i can understand that some people like it and appreciate it so why not ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

Anyway stay focused on the mission - get in find this SICK MF and arrest him :)

And then execute him
Ah yes, something only me and my best friends would do. We always deliver the line "Forgiving you is God's business, but sending you to HIM. It's ours" xD

Tho i always play to fulfill the objective everytime i play solo with bots.

You missed a couple things.

For instance, I noticed how on the room where the laptop is at there is a closet with very skimpy clothes, but the size is very small (almost looks like a children's size). Then there is also the notes on the doors and walls. I don't remember which one, but one of them mentions something along the lines of "I know about your recordings. I won't keep quiet, stop it."
Amos being a creep is no surprise as you can see on the birthday raffle. There's a sign that says that if you submit feet pics (female only), you have a chance at earning a prize. I'm assuming the prize is the car at the spawn, but this is just my speculation

I also remember reading something about a dog on that level but I can't remember where :hp_kyu:

The car is a birthday gift from Amos to his daughter. If you go into the daughter's room on the second floor, you'll notice that on her personal laptop is an advertisement listing that exact model of vehicle (including the giftwrap) for sale after which the proceeds will go to charity. She seems to be an environmentally conscious person so the vehicle not being eco-friendly could be one of the many reason for the listing.

OP, if you read the the mission details when you select a mission it appears both when you select it and on the large projector screen. It tells you from the get-go what you're going into. This is word-for-word what is written in the game:

"VALLEY OF THE DOLLS: Having taken down a distribution center for an illegal child-pornography ring operating out of Los Suenos, the LSPD cyber-crime team has now located the man profiting from its sales. LSPD SWAT have been sent to his home on a warrant service."

It's a throwback to SWAT4's Fairfax Residence mission wherein you deal with similar themes to Valley of the Doll's.
Kinda Unrelated but; you'd think that during a party there'd by way more civilians running about the map
>you'd think that during a party there'd by way more civilians running about the map

I think in the notes from the security guys it says the party is almost completely wound down by the time you show up.

oh in that case you will fail the objective. you need to take him alive :D

We, as a friend group decided you shouldn't fail if you decide to execute Amos. In fact, I recommend devs giving him a gun so at the very least you're allowed to shoot him sometimes. Usually I just pepper-spray him until I can't any more.

He does have a gun, but doesn't draw it very often, though you will still fail the objective of taking him alive if you kill him when he aims at you. SWAT are not military, nor executioners, thus aim to take every suspect alive.

Very few IRL SWAT interactions end in dead suspects due to the planning and tools at their disposal. And in addition to that, most people in real life have an instinct to live.
I found it (and connected missions) disturbingly self explanatory ...

It's stupid and completely unrealistic to 'fail' if you return fire on an armed and dangerous suspect, anyway. For all the liberties they take with the world of Los Suenos, they somehow have the most restrictive ROE in the world when it comes to mission objective suspects.
