Also, in a PvP sense (yes I know PvP cringe), Stinnger can't be defeated by headware like both the flashbang and gas grenade can be, so it'll be the only option that is guaranteed to work to some degree on anyone.
Of course this is a game which doesn't incorporate these multitude of impossible to prepare for issues, so it really is just another fun option to use.
Don't remember how they work exactly, been a while since I've used real weapon names. But to my knowledge, they're planned to be added to the game in the future. I believe they were a previous build thing.
A perfect time to use it, if there are hostages, cover, and the room is a bit too large for gas.

Very small rooms. The stingers bounce everywhere constantly hitting the suspect over and over again.
