High Ping in Multiplayer

So me and my friends got this game recently and were looking forward to Co-op with each other. But whenever we play together, everyone but the server host has 150-250 ping and it is almost unplayable. We do not have high latency in any other game, and we all live near each other. None of us are using a VPN, but some reasons why this is happening would be appreciated.

The game uses peer to peer, when you random search, you are connected to players based on how close they are to you. If your friends aren't exactly close, you can see where the issue comes in

Do you have any mods? You may have to disable serverside checksum in game options, forces players you join or join you to have identical mods. Also doesn't seem to work perfectly yet.

If not, I still recommend turning it off, but besides that I can only suggest trying. If you're having backend error, it has to do with an anti-virus or firewall you're using

I have checked the logs as well as monitoring my firewall activity, there was nothing interfering really.

A bit lost here. Maybe the game is dead ?

Shouldn't be the case, the match maker can be buggy, but it's for the most part still a young and vibrant game. What exactly happen when you try to join or create a lobby?

Hmm, I'm not sure, I can only say to compare what the average lobby is like from the random match maker and compare it to your lobby, try switching who's host, etc. Besides that, I'd say to make a bug report on the Official Discord or try the bug discussion channel

You should spawn in the lobby yeah, I assume there are never any other players around? Not even in the shooting house? (Center of the map)
