For example commanding a team of BOTs doesent feel as enjoyable as it used to ( do keep in mind that I'm basing these things off of memories):
- They feel really clunky at times, that doesent have too much of an effect on the general gameplay but it does take you out of the immersion which btw is the strongest point of the entire game imo.
- They are straight up sniper BOTs from TF2, unless they get outnumbered 2 to 1 they never lose firefights and immediately one tap suspects as they enter their line of sight, another hit taken to the immersiveness of the game + it makes the gameplay of swat team leader really boring as there is hardly any risk involved to breaching rooms with your men (so long as you arent the one in front).
I dont remember having these issues in Swat 4, but they are definitely present here.
That being said, this has got to be the most refined swat simulator / tactical shooter experience to date with a lot of QoL features that make it outclass just about all of their compatitors.
I'd say, only buy this game if you have friends also willing to buy it and/or if you have no issue playing with strangers and making new friends to play with because this game is meant to be played in coop. If you do meet these criteria then I think you should definitely go for it. The game can be incredibly tense and challenging and you miss out on where it can shine the brightest if you just play it in single with BOTs.
This could change though, the game is still in early access and being actively worked on by the developers so perhaps one day I will be able to recommend RoN just for playing it in single player.
I do have to mention though that as the game closes in on it's final release they say that the devs intend to raise it's price from 40 euros to 60,so if buying it cheap has any merit on your decision then it might be a good idea to get it sooner rather than later.
