Flashlight needs improvement
The beam has the worst of both worlds - too narrow to light up rooms adequately, while also not throwing far enough to light up distant areas. Players should have the option of different lights to put on their guns, or at least be able to adjust the beam in-mission.

That's a very good point, I also found the flashlight attachment not very useful at all, it's too narrow and bright. I would like a flashlight that better illuminates a bigger area with a softer light.

The developer should look at weapon lights commonly used by cops in real life, like the Streamlight TLR-1 or the Surefire M600. I have the TLR-1 HL and it blows away the flashlight in this game both in distance and flood.

Yes THIS, I came here looking for a fix but I see there must not be a setting to increase the radius of the flashlight. On a side note, I don't want to high jack the Op's thread but how to turn laser on? I've remapped the button for under-barrel attachment but still nothing.

Not everyone seems to feel the same way, but I consider this a priority issue with a large impact on gameplay. I absolutely don't care about 99% of the stuff people have nitpicked about. I just want a decent flashlight and for my character to stop averting his muzzle because his right elbow got within 6 inches of a housefly or coat rack.

This is a problem that Jim Sterling mentioned in their old video about half-baked horror game tropes. Granted RoN is not a horror game(per se) but it still suffers from the same problem. In Jim's video, they actually even personally switched a regular flashlight on and off in a garage and showed how much the surroundings illuminate from the bounce lighting, rather than just "tiny pin pricks of lights that illuminate a small circle 2 feet in front of you"

I got a 1250 lumen light on my rifle and that light is bright and has good range even though it was a cheaper branded light. The ingame one seems very weak like its a common hand held torch. Thankfully i havnt encountered any enemies outside the garage section of the gas station mission. Theres an area around it thats incredibly dark and the light does nothing. Its the kind of spot that would be an instant death sentence if theres an armed offender there.
