Have you shot a center fire rifle indoors? If you have, you'd know that even with hearing pro, you are still within a damaging threshold.
Gunshots are 140db+, hearing pro at BEST reduce the noise level by 30db. And the ones that muffle loud noises and allow quiet ones through, usually aren't that good - they're normally 24 or 26db
That's still at least 110db to the dome. Your ears are ringing after that. Believe me.
That argument is null and void.
A slider maybe good for people who want them quieter. But the default should keep them loud, because it's a refreshing change.
Let's just agree on this part, more options never hurt anybody. Or the opposite: give a seperate slider for voices and enviromental sound. In either solutions everyone gets what they want.
You know what I think you're right, however, it's not realistic enough. There should be a 1 life policy to maximize realism, you die, you get locked out of the game.
LMAO, these people.
First of all, it is you who look dumb with your "gUnS aRe LoUd It Is ReAlIsTiC". All of you fail to understand, that SWAT members use headphones with active noise reduction and comms.
Second of all even indoors active protection does its job.
I've shot hundreds of rounds with AK, all of them indoors, in a concrete bunker. Concrete, not wooden and full of furniture like in hotels, meth houses etc. After every shot you feel reverb in your stomach straight for a second due to sound ricocheting all over the place and hitting you again and again. But active protection does its job. Shot sounds don't hurt my hearing and I'm 100% sure, that if I had comms inside my headphones I would be able to hear them crystal clear.
Even if you had the same experience as me, but still were deafened thats probably because you used leased cheap headphones, which are so wonky, that they barely touch your ears.
Thank you, a lot people hear I don't think have used any sort of ANC earpro as that cancels the gunshots very well while still allowing you to hear everything else especially your teammates who in this case would be on their own internal comms. Honestly I get the devs thought process of wanting it to be realistic and all but gunshots wouldn't be this loud with ANC, I think they should just a slider exclusively for the gunshots and then it would literally appease everyone.
Absolute joke that there is no option to lower the sound of guns.
All points about realism are complete rubbish.
