I don't think we need even more unrealistic guns tbh

Even if you really want to go down that rabbit hole the AK isn't as realistic choice for a SWAT team either in America. Having all the guns to choose from isn't realistic either. Some elements of games have to be unrealistic so there's interesting gameplay.

He didn't ask for a SWAT team, he asked for a police unit. That is a police unit out of Alaska.

Yes, but also no. Squares and rectangles sort of thing. If you consider all weapons that are self-loading and fire a 7.62 round to be an AK, then yes.
