''playstyles utilizing fast and hard entrances.''
Unless it is Active shooter or Bomb Threat mode, there is no need to rush or swipe the map under the clock.
That's a hard negative from me dude. Traps should be left as it is. Like what Cursed Hawkins mentioned, trap are there to punish reckless play style ESPECIALLY when the mode you are playing are the one that requires extreme care and slow approach such as Barricaded Suspects and Hostage Rescue. I also welcome the RNG aspects of randomly place traps as a way to encourage speed running community to compete.
If you want to utilize fast and hard entry, choose Raid or Bomb Threat. Those two modes specifically remove traps from the maps allowing for a faster pace play style, while equally balance it by having the suspects reacting faster with less hesitant. The usage of C2, shotgun breach and battering ram become much more useful in these modes as well to catch the suspects off guard.
Don't get me wrong, the game is still buggy and invisible wire trip is just one of the many bugs I have encountered in the game that need patching. I also would appreciate the ability to have a custom round just for the added fun value.
However, blaming the already solid and proven gameplay mechanic due to your own recklessness is just unfair.
This is another point though about this game. Not sure if this is intentional from the devs but do you think every trip wire is visible IRL? I've came across stuff made from fishing line overseas, thankfully they were just early warning traps in houses.
gonna have to make it visible for gameplay reason. i can already imagine players complaining of buggy trap implementation if the dev make it any harder to see!
besides, i think minus the invisible trap, it is functioning as intended. There are many moments in game where the fault lies entirely on me for not being careful enough and let my guard down when I know I shouldn't.
Agree, though I do have to mention that trap only exist in Barricaded Suspect and Hostage Rescue. Both terms already alluded to the fact the suspects knows Swat is coming, thus barricading the environment and seting booby trap for us.
That being said, I do want the dev to make this feature and implement it once the game is out. If anything it's to make the whole story more cohesive. Maybe it is mention during briefing or something like that before you start.
i don't mind the current implementation RESTRICTIVELY for early access because it's fun to see people get blown to pieces. Again, only in early access. I'd fuming if they still keep it on release.
Fun question really, does crackheads really can't set a trap? Sure they are high but they ain't stupid. A crackheads with knowledge is an even dangerous crackheads. Or are we simply generalising druggies = stupid/unable to think critically?
If they were map specific it would be much less offensive, but I find it hard to believe that all crackheads and gas stations robbers have easy access to hand grenades. I already modded them out until the invisible tripwire bug is fixed but this really shouldn't be a mod it in yourself type of fix for people who want to experiment with all the tools at your disposal outside of raids.
realism ya i get that but if that means encouraging cod rambos gunghos rushing in and getting their teammates killed with impunity id rather see them blown to pieces
u r supposed keep ur teammates safe in a swat game not putting them in danger
tbh i think the game is being kind to players they aint making traps that killed and hurt cops irl like booby trapped wheelchair or spike traps hidden in the backyard etc
all they did is an obvious tripwire
Ive done several Raid modes on Hotel (unmodded, singleplayer) and i found traps there. During one of those missions the hotel Raid had 2 traps.
Just fyi.
