Remarks!!!!!
-It seems bulletproof vests and gas masks on suspects are only visual at the moment. In any case, we couldn't tell any difference when we shot suspects with and without. However, enemy HP varies a bit from level to level and game mode. Thus opponents in certain levels are simply equipped with more HP. But the bulletproof vest has no effect per se. Weapons don't have an AP value either..... I know PoN is still in ALPHA. But the game advertises armor vests, plates and weapons AP to simulate. It is due to the fact that it is only simulated for the players at the moment... at least it seems so after our tests. Of course we are not 100% sure about that.
Theres 2 things ive experienced although minor compared to your tests which are different. Cs gas/pepper ball not effecting some people so perhaps the mask does work just on some people it hasnt rendered and on other its there but the attributes of not being affected arent present?

Mpx has faster fire rate and reload time compared to other smgs. However the only real advantage is needing to reload fast when empty which seldom happens. Mp5 will still be my choice even if they added something better.

I don't mind the MP5 and MPX that much but they need more magazines because they require a lot of ammo for each target, and they also have the disadvantage of putting civilians at higher risk the same as shotguns.

The UMP is a feather duster. I think it has about the same damage per shot as the other SMGs (less than any pistol), but its rate of fire is so slow that it has the lowest DPS in the game.

I testing these rifles and usually SR 16 kill for me and majority of these are correct
Hmm I gonna try changing muzzle around cuz quick test was 556 using only bake while everything I always go with suppressor
now 556 also do the kill for me. idk anymore man but i stick with this
M4A1 and HK wont do for kill with sometime up to 3 shots if ya happen to hit only arm and sometime 1 shot
MP5 for me always will be 3 shots
MPX 4 shots 3? 4? out of 8 suspects DAT 2 MUCH

I've been having the same problem with the SA 58. It seems like they increased the recoil, or broke the control grip at least, since the last update. Even on single fire its ridiculous.
Even before the update, I was about to call the SA-58 FAL the single worst firearm in the game (but I'm a huge fan of the FN FAL IRL), but then I gave the UMP 45 a go.
Definitely something going on, the SA-58 is the only rifle I like precisely because it's the only one that I find actually downs the folks I shoot at quickly, as in reliable 2 shot. Vs all the other rifles that I might as well leave on auto to ensure downing, but run the risk of stray rounds.

Barrel length. Rifles bounce off objects much more often. That is legit the point of SMG's. Smaller damage but compact and good breaching weapons.

Except carbines aren't much longer than smgs anyway, which is why they've fallen out of favor even with special forces.
While it is realistic that a rifle is more deadly than an SMG, this is ultimately a game, and needs balancing. I'd imagine until NPC's get the same damage calcs as we do, instead of the simple pool of HP they currently have, the devs wont be able do stuff like making npcs with body armor take less damage from pistol calibers, let alone something like making hits to their vests do very low damage unless from a rifle.

My point still stands. Barrel length. May not be by a massive margin, but it's there. I just use the shotguns and the .45 anyways cause in a CQB situation I like the 1 taps :D
