Yeah, the lack of screen resolution options really ruins the game. Especially since it's set to one that screws most of the art and makes tons of text incredibly difficult to read

options - graphic options - custom settings = screen resolutions

you can change it in game. Open settings then look in top left there will be a small arrow click that for more options.
