followed all the basic steps: consistent crashing in multiplayer
we cannot get through a single turn. it crashes always. reliably within 5 minutes. no mods, nothing wrong with the game. any ideas?

How many players? I have heard simultaneous turns throws a hissy fit when there's too many players (I do hope they fix that). I have a very strong aversion to simultaneous turns, so I might just be biased there, but I haven't had issues like this playing 6 player sequential turn MP campaigns.

Maybe see if you can run a MP campaign after turning off simultaneous turns?

If that doesn't work; have you (or your MP players) tried mods in the past on this install of the game? Some mods don't remove themselves properly, so that might be causing an issue.

2 players sadly

Yes, I've had mods but I deactivated all of them

It crashed randomly; my friends pc fully restarts (I thought it was a PSU issue but it's only during Warhammer 3 multiplayer)

For me it just randomly shuts off, full crash with music cutting out and everything freezing

We will try to turn of simultaneous turns but most our crashes happen during the end turn

If your friend is having a full system shutdown that means he has hardware issues, software cannot shut down a PC (crashes/freezes, yes, but not a hardware shutdown). Your idea of an issue with his PSU is probably the reason he shuts down.

I had a similar issue in with my old PC and it was only TW:WH3 that had the issue. At first I thought it was the graphics card on its way out, but once the PC itself shutdown I replaced the PSU. That fixed the issue for several months until I was able to replace the machine entirely.

I suspect there are certain elements in the coding/graphics that cause power spikes that older/used PSUs cannot handle (my PSU was 7+ years old). In MP if he shuts down he can cause a crash for all the other players, so I suspect that's the issue (especially if you have no other issues playing the game SP).

I thought the same but it is -only- warhammer 3 and then -only- during multiplayer. no other games, singleplayer goes fine. my first thought was also psu but then why only multiplayer?

Unfortunately I can't answer that, but do you have any other friends you can test MP with? Just to see if it is specific to the player you wanted to play with, because if you can play MP with other players without this issue it is likely to be a problem with your friend's PC.

I'll see if I have other friends I can test ^^

Worst case scenario I could help test at some point this weekend, not like it would take long if it happens during the first end turn cycle.

it happens extremely randomly, i should not say it is every turn. it seems to go fine with other people so my friend likely has hardware issues sadly..
