I use a geforce 1080 ti
I never tinkered with the standard settings of the GPU so can't use that fix unfortunately.
Many dif problems have similar symptoms and new problem identification requires specific details of the problem(s) and the persons pc config. (cause also may be more than one problem)
Without detailed system/problem info getting support from experienced person will not be possible or very difficult. (trying to get a quick fix answer here most likely result in no fix)
My suggestion:
This post has a troubleshooting baseline todo and a template to aid diagnostics to anyone with experience to help you(just doing this may also fix your problem).

I would also advise to use support forums , not steam , as you will need to provide diag files/screenshots etc which you can't do easily here (and you may also find solutions here already)

I tried everything listed in this forum and found through the official forums. Nothing worked.
Eventually I decided to fire up WinRE and reinstalled Windows, keeping my personal files.
This seemingly fixed the crashes. Started a new campaign; I'm around turn 50 and no crashes yet and the performance has increased as well.
I know reinstalling Windows isn't perhaps an option for everyone, but it seemed to help me and I'm glad I did it.
I have had daily interactions with SEGA support for two weeks now. They've looked at my setup, my windows installation, my drivers, dxdiag, you name it. Nothing.
Warhammer Total War 3 is the only game that crashes on my system so I'd rather not have to...
I updated my windows to the latest version as it never did and since then ive had 0 crashes or lockups like i was getting. I was on H1H1 and now im on H1H2 so check peeps see if you are on H1H2 and if not upgrade to that and see if it still keeps happerning. Also if you are running mods turn them off and check that aswell.
