Unable to play multiplayer on xbox game pass
Multiplayer is unplayable as the lobby crashes when you open it. I think this is only an xbox game pass version of the game issue. ( All the multiplayer games on xbox haven't gotten passed the lobby stage). Not sure if anyone has a fix for this. None of my friends can get it to work either.

Some players that if the Game Pass user has set a custom profile picture (rather than using a default Xbox picture), it can cause issues trying to connect and play cross-platform. It is recommended that you visit your Xbox profile to see if updating the profile picture addresses the issue:
  1. Navigate to {Ο ΣΥΝΔΕΣΜΟΣ ΑΦΑΙΡΕΘΗΚΕ}
  2. On your profile page, click 'Customize'
  3. Click 'Change gamerpic'
  4. Select one of the default Xbox images
  5. Click OK
  6. Save the changes to your profile
  7. Re-launch the game and attempt to join/connect to a multiplayer lobby
Please let me know if this turns out to be the case and I will escalate the results to the team!

impossible for me and my friend (we are on gamepass) to play a campaign together

crossplay? I have 3 friends on steam and 1 friend on game pass. Everyone on steam can join each other but the one with the game pass cannot join any of us. gives same error message as no response from host.

Same problem here. Tried to play with friend on game pass, neither of us can connect to the other. Errors out as no response from host regardless of who is hosting.

Crossplay?
Is crossplay between steam and gamepass working. Because Im not able to get my friends to join. This faq says it will have it at launch https://www.totalwar.com/blog/total-war-warhammer-iii-faq/

"WILL TOTAL WAR: WARHAMMER III HAVE CROSS-STORE MULTIPLAYER?
Yes, we intend to support cross-store multiplayer at launch."

Same here, from googling all i could find that crossplay works with steam and epic, but not gamepass.

Hello everyone! After speaking with the team, it sounds like the Microsoft Store / Game Pass player should take a moment to link their Xbox account to their Steam account. This should allow them to connect to your games until we can work out a more effective solution to the root issue.

Account is linked and its not working.

Managed to get it to work with Radmin VPN to make it work in local area network, but its lagging a lot and sometimes give a memory could not be written error

It's a very weird thing. It worked out once for us (we invited a friend via room code), and then it didn't after that. Any idea what this might be?

We found signing out of xbox pass fixed the issue. unsure why this is. some people said it has something to do the xbox avatar
