Hello everyone and welcome to the first Emperium update of 2025, you know it's really weird to think that I've been working on this game for as long as I have been. The earliest builds of the game were committed to Steam in August of 2019, and now 6 years down the line it's still something I think about a lot. Even when I take breaks from working on Emperium they're always just breaks, I've never ever thought for a moment that I would be done with this project.

To bring in the new year I'm releasing an update that was supposed to go out last year but I got caught up in real life and was ultimately distracted in the final stages of development. I've gone back and (hopefully) wrapped a pretty bow on everything and it is now ready to release.

In this post I'll outline everything coming in Emperium 1.5.8!


The headlining feature of this update are Steam Achievements! Steamworks is now integrated into the game and doing certain things in the game will grant achievements. There aren't many right now, mostly just for clearing the raids on their default difficulty, as well as collection milestone achievements for Proofs of Victory.


The other main feature of this patch includes story mode difficulty option for all the raids except the ones added in 1.5 and 1.5.5, this is because they are still technically "current" content. Once 2.0 (hopefully) releases all content in the base game will be able to be cleared on Story Mode.


This patch also brings with it LOADS of bug fixes and other quality of life features, including a new UI for hiring party members. The game is overall a lot more playable than it was in the past, due to some extra testing this time around. I wanted this update to serve as a "definitive" edition to the game, in case I never finish 2.0.
