This game is so hard
Not sure how I feel about it. I came in expecting something like Doom or a forgiving FPP like Mirror's Edge. im enjoying the demo somewhat, I'm just so surprised how difficult it is. I can compare it to something like a precision platformer e.g Super Meat Boy or Celeste. One hit-deaths, frequent checkpoints, extremely high difficulty and rewarding progression.

I may have to play more to see if I'll buy or wait for Game Pass. Great demo but the difficulty was unexpected. Maybe a Celeste-like Assist mode would do.

I got to the part where you can go left or right, with enemies waiting for you on both ends. I don't mind this game being fast-paced and expecting you to not get hit. I just don't feel like the slow down mechanic isn't as responsive as it should be. I can kill 2/3 of the enemies in the area, but I always get killed before clearing it.

I'm hoping the devs keep the difficulty really high though.

Yeah, maybe an assist mode like in Celeste would be good. For those who have disabilities or just want to experience the platforming and story. Didn't ruin Celeste so it won't ruin this game whatsoever.

The difficulty is good and rewarding, it was just unexpected for me

Just hold shift to slow time, strafe left or right while time is slowed to dodge one bullet, then let go of shift to dash in for the kill. It's really not hard.

You think so? I only died 15 times (mostly in the same area) and finished the demo in around 18 minutes. And I am by no means a particularly talented gamer.

Just play a couple more times and try to understand the slow down mechanic. It took me 30 minutes to finish the 2 mission in the demo in my first playthrough and i died a lot but with more playing in my second playthrough i finished in 12 mins. Its really a good and rewarding game you just gotta understand the mechanics.

Hard is a positive for me. Games becoming too easy is why I stopped playing altogether these days.

Or add difficulty levels. easy, normal or hard to satisfy all of players.

its difficult becuase you actually need to learn how to play it. I absolutly loved the demo, played it twice just then, so going to buy the game!

The tutorial in the demo doesn't teach a pretty critical mechanic: Blocking.

You can block/deflect bullets if you attack just as they're about to hit you.

Makes things easier.

Played the demo multiple times, I don't get hit anymore. You need to learn it, you can't expect to just head into it and ace it.. This isn't my little pony.

I don't think it's really fair to compare this game to Celeste, that went for a completely different theme altogether where having an assist mode was in line with the developers' mindsets. This game is more easily comparable to the Hotline Miami series, with its one-hit mechanic and fast pace. Plus I don't know how you can make a one-hit-kill game easier without fundamentally changing that mechanic, I've died a LOT and yet I can still say this game is easier than I expected it to be!
