Station length
Hi there,
I have the game for a while now, but never really got into it.

I tried to look for an answer, but came out empty handed.
When you build a station for a specific length, is there any way to keep it that was? As soon as I connect a track to it, it starts to stretch the station, and although I can pull the station back for a while, it doesn't really work as intended.

Am I missing something here, something to click on, some hotkeys, or settings?

You're not missing anything, the way curved tracks are drawn is what causes it to happen. The only way it doesn't is if you toggle the keep straight option. Given that you often have curved platforms you just have to play around a bit. Once you get the hang of what works and what doesn't, you can get it done quite quickly.

Here is what I usually do. If I need platforms of 200 meters (straight), I build a station e.g. 160 meters, and then add the next track on each side while monitoring real-time what this does to the length of the station. On one side, extend until the platform is 180 meters long, then on the other side, until the platform is 200 meters long.

If the platform is curved, it's basically the same process, but the original length depends on where within the platform the curve points should be (closer to the center for a completely curved shape e.g. C or S shape, or closer to the edges for a mostly straight platform with some curving on one or both ends). In the first case I might start with a 50 meter long platform initially, in the 2nd case the same 160 meters.

As David said, you get a hang very quickly.

You can also use platform stop signals to precisely control train stop position without having to rebuild or move tracks. Overbuild your platform tracks, then adjust positions with the signals.

Thanks very much!
