Trains not using other depot platforms
I don't know if this is a bug, but for some depots I have this issue:

There are multiple platforms in my depot line, a train comes in and uses e.g. platform 1, now only the other platforms are still free. Once another train wants to come into the depot, instead of going into the free platforms, it wants to go into platform 1 which the earlier train is already using.

I don't know how to fix this, maybe it has something to do with trains using the quickest path to their destination, but all I know is that this is causing my trains to run late and block the entire line, so if you know any solution to this, please tell me!
Thank you

Have you set up the secondary platforms correctly? The designated secondary platform signal has to be the last signal a train passes before entering the depot. All trains have to enter the depot through the same signal (you can only have one entrance to the platforms when using secondary platforms)

Maybe that's it, let me try that out on some depots. Sometimes I get confused with the signals, especially in more complicated depots

Edit: I've put one signal and all the trains pass through the one track, yet they still want to go into the platform that is already used.

Any chance you could post a screenshot of the layout of your depot and a screenshot of how you set up the depot line?

After figuring out how screenshots work, I hope this works

The trains already in the depot are from me using the Intervention after trying something

Some tracks would need double backing to reach them from that signal. However, I can't see a headshunt on the left side of the station. Did I miss it or is it indeed missing?

The issue I always have is the way the depot is designed irl. Here, the depot is just at the side of the line which is why there is only a switch going into the depot instead of a dedicated track and which is why there are some platforms that need double backing to be reached.

I don't have a headshunt really, what I have is a track which isn't a platform for the depot line and instead just a track that trains can change directions on, which actually works. And well, the tracks that don't need double backing are already causing the issue of this post

On a second glimpse I see there are no signals for trains leaving the platform tracks in the depot. Not sure if that matters but I just had some issues with a terminus station not working properly yesterday and in the end it was all just because I forgot one exit signal.

I've tried that before too, however also that didn't end up working sadly

If you share the save , I'll see if I can find anything else.

I think the trains are automatically recognized the station is the most convenient place for turnback to depot. Try add some "Arrow" to guide the trains not use platform 4&3 for turnback. Add "No Way" Plate and label some train in case for necessary.

The trains don't turnback on platform 3 & 4, all the trains going into the depot are coming from the east at platform 1 & 2

You need to add signals for each of the trains leaving the depot tracks (but not on the headshunt tracks).

In general the signalling in your save isn't very good in the context of the game (it might be totally realistic but the game AI doesn't handle the signal setup well).

Alright, I'm gonna try that. And well, I can imagine that my signalling isn't very good, never has it ever been my thing in nimby and it is sometimes quite hard trying to find a balance between "I'm going to do this realistically" and "Oh, how does this game keep up with that", as I'm not really a type of guy to make something fictional

Anyway, thanks a lot, first Community Tab experience for me and I really appreciate the help

In General I use the following signal setups:

Double tracks : No signals needed between junctions if you use a balise as the exit from a junction. Junctions set up :

Path signal on every entry, balise on every exit

Single track: Unsignalled except in passing loops:

Balise after leaving the single track section, path signal controlling access to the next single track section. One way signals to make sure trains thake the correct branch of a loop
