1.7.3 - Path signal issues
I don't know if anyone else has this issue but path signals at my terminals are not working properly, basically they are displaying a red when the platforms are clear causing my network to get all bunged up. The problems seem to be only "old style" scissor platforms (before the update that changed the scissors to be outside the platform area) so it may just be a consequence of my main save being something I have been updating since version 1.1

Are trains waiting planning on reversing direction inside the platform? Is some track in the scissors area (both ends) reserved?
1.7 changed the scoring for the places trains prefer to reverse direction, and now they might want to reverse in inline stations more often than before. This issue I mention has always been possible but now it would be more visible. I'm thinking of reverting this change.

Yes, these are platforms at the end of lines where the trains reverse. I've only had 1.7.3 running for about half an hour and I am noticing 2 different problems so far. The first is that the inner path signal is staying red when the trains try to reverse, especially if the train is longer than the platform (so there is part of the train fouling the signal), the second is trains getting stuck at red signals before entering the platform, even there aren't any part of any train getting in the path of the signal. I tried moving the path signal and block baliase a few meters away from the platform and that has only seemed to work sometimes.

There is also no real consistency to the problem, I can have two platforms next to each other that are the same length with the same length of train stopping there and one works and one doesn't.

Rebuild the scissors outside the platform (or make the platform shorter and keep scissors where they are, which would be outside)? I actually did not realize you could put scissors inside in 1.1 as I only picked up the game at 1.4 and this is not possible now.

I build my own scissors anyway, as the in-game version is too short for a prototypical operation (21 meters long vs. e.g. Russian crossovers are 64-80 meters long, and JR 1067mm scissors are around 60-65 meters long typically).

Unfortunately that would probably require at least 50-75 hours of work so I am hoping for a solution to avoid having to do this. I already spent at least that much time completely re-doing all of my lines for 1.6 so to now have to retrofit my network yet again is not something I have the energy or interest in doing

I've had issues with path signals turning red even when there are no track reservations. Trains also take completely different (and stupid) routes to depots than they did in 1.6

I've had a similar problem with signals. The problem was either signals or branches within the platform area, something that was possible to build a few versions back but isn't now.
